Because trump supporters, having foisted this disaster on us, have exhausted all possible defenses for the indefensible.
I think the point people are trying to make would be this: absent some contribution, discussion, or content, nobody cares, so it's just using bandwidth in an act of onanism. And that's okay, especially on a BBS, but sometimes we get a little more from you than that. Cheers.
This general seems to be super popular in iraq. No good reason to kill him. It's like joeffery killing Ned Stark. What was the point. Everyone one else is telling him not to do it and he does it anyways.
I don't think there is anything wrong with expressing an opinion about the level of historical analysis in the forum. I don't think that means I have to respond/refute/analyze every post I disagree with that involves historical discussions. That is an onerous standard. It was a casual comment made after reading some historical analysis while perusing the thread. However, some people here will jump down your throat for anything and, obviously, they care, because here we are a page and a half later.
It was super-snotty and obnoxious. Hence the attention it garnered, unfortunately. It's a derail type post, and it worked, whether you intended that or not. Yeah, congrats. None of us the better for it.
Never said it was clear let's go pillage movement but it was certainly about more than religion. I am a history buff and teacher I understand a lot more than that video.
The First Crusade was sent to Constantanople to reinforce Orthadox Christian Byzantine forces against Muslim Seljuq invasion and retake the land in Anatolia that has fallen to Seljuk Muslim invaders
Jigg what grade level and area of history do you teach? sincere question, my daughter just started teaching.
Yeah i had not read all the way through, I understand now. This is definitley a topic that depends on your interpretation and worldview.
Right now I am teaching World History, W Geography. I am currently used as a in class resource for SPED. I have taught Texas History as well. Started as a 7th grade teacher I am now teaching 9-12.
I used to believe this until I really began doing research on the issue prior to a trip to Europe. No, there was plenty of blame to go around between the Christians and the Muslims. The Muslims were taking traditionally Christian lands and were threatening to take what remained of the Byzantine Empire. That is how the Crusades started... and the two religions warred for almost 200 years over territory. The Muslims like to play the victim in the conflict, but it is far more complicated than that and there were horrendous things that were done in the name of both Christ and Allah. Nearly 800 years later people point to the Crusades...... when really that was a very long time ago, and far from a black and white issue. That is why I say it is absurd for Muslims to point to the Crusader Cross as something nasty to Muslims. I would say the same if some Christian stated he was offended by a classic Islamic symbol based on the Crusades so long ago. There are lots more pressing concerns than the symbolism of a Crusader Cross.
