Hey friends, quick question for y'all. I know some of y'all will probably think I'm crazy. But I'm curious to hear as many answers as possible about my current situation... I just met (like JUST met) this girl that I think I could see myself being interested in. We actually me while I was visiting my parents in a town they just moved to, and as it turns out she was doing the same, and we both live in the same town. Wild coincidence, I think! Anyway, the only thing thats making me hesitate a bit on pursuing anything is the age difference. She's either 21 or 22, and I am almost 27. I know thats not a huge difference to a lot of people. I don't care abut the perception or anything like that. Mostly I'm just not sure if SHE would think I am too old for her... I know that as you get older, age differences seem to shrink, but I'm not sure if 21 year olds are too interested in guys that are in their late 20's... lol Its not something thats going to stop me from being interested if it comes to that. But I have only ever dated girls that are no more than a year or two younger than me. So Im just curious to get more opinions on the matter...
How would we know whether she's interested in you? This completely depends from person to person and you have to ask her. In general, I don't think the age difference is too much when she's already 21/22 and you only 27. But again, there's really no point in asking people whether a specific person is interested in you, no one but her can answer.
Age used to be an issue to me, but not anymore. If there's attraction, so be it. I've dated 5 up 7 down, but this hot 22 year old was semi-hitting on me a couple weeks ago. Daddy issues or not, if she's game, so am I. There really is no righ answer. If there's chemistry, there's chemistry.
tbh, I wouldn't think twice if I was still just dating around, having fun. Im really only interested in serious relationships, and I've simply never considered any girl this much younger than me... We'll see what happens. Like I said, I just met her so there might not be anything there anyway.
She is probably more interested in your employment sitch than your age. True Story: I am walking the isles of a grocery store with my 8 year old son (my old ass is 50) and we pass a 21ish year old smoking hot babe. And she gives me this “open for business” look. I just smiled and kept walking. Moral of the story: Women are open to way more than men think are reasonable.
My wife is 8 years younger than me. And she’s the mature one. Just go for it, dude. Women are attracted to decisiveness, not indecision.
I am 6 years older than my wife and we are great. I had about a 10 year run of dating 22/23 year olds until i was about 33. Go for it!
Sounded a bit like it. To be more polite, it is completely different for everyone and you will have to ask her directly, but the age gap you mentioned (21/22 Vs 27) doesn't seem concerning at all, so I don't think you'll come off as a creep. Also shouldn't be at vastly different points in your life or have a huge gap in interests.
I'm gotten girls in their early 20's interested in me. Well until they find out I'm happily married with kids almost their age. Age is just a number until you have to wear diapers again.
there is a highly accurate method to figure out if shes too young...take your age, divide it in half and then add 7. works every time. 27 / 2 = 13.5 + 7 = 20.5. even is she is only 21 youre good to go.
As they say, age is nothing but a number...if y'all vibe, then that's all that matters...I've dated +10 / -18 or so, it really doesn't matter if it's casual...If it's more than that, just communicate...
