Trump's response to the attacks was very well put - Made to stop a war, not start one.
Iran's only course of retaliation will come in the form of funding guerilla's and terrorist attacks - something they were already doing to an extent - so I would certainly start vetting Iranians already in the US and tighten all no fly lists.

It’s cool I see the double standard. First he was a punk and wasn’t going to do anything because of Iran's alliance with Russia and China and now it’s god help save us from the crazed meanie.

It's time to come home. These were some good parting shots. Seize the moment.

Soleimani's death will give Iran renewed legitimacy
Soleimani's assassination comes as the Islamic Republic and its allies have been struggling to retain influence in Iraq.

    Ibrahim A-Marashi
    AlJazeera.com

In the early hours of January 3, a US air raid killed General Qassem Soleimani, the head of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' (IRGC) Quds Force, as well as Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, a commander of the Iraqi Popular Mobilisation Units (PMUs).

The attack may prove to be US President Donald Trump's most reckless foreign policy decision in the Middle East. It was a grave violation of Iraq's national sovereignty and it is likely to result in further instability in the country and beyond.

It came on the tail of mass protests in both Iran and Iraq which challenged the Islamic Republic both domestically and regionally. Trump's decision to approve the assassination of Soleimani, however, has given a lifeline to the Iranian leadership and its allies in Iraq by driving nationalist sentiments and turning attention away from the failings of the governments in Baghdad and Tehran.

Iran will be Iraq / Afghanistan 2.0. There will be dead Americans and flushing of cash to make an unstable region just as unstable for the foreseeable future. I hope 45 gets his oil hookup or if they have yellow cake we are really in trouble.

The author of your tweet was embarrassed and intelligent enough to take down their original tweet. I see you are incapable of the same.

Keep on propagating that "fake news"! Never change NRF!

This is about oil and Israel.

Vote Tulsi. Screw Trump and the other war hawks. This is exactly why I refused to vote for him the first time. I smelled this from far and my suspicions are confirmed. Dude is 100 percent no different than Bush and Obama. Screw anyone who isn't openly anti regime change war.

Serious? The purpose was to further entrench the US in Iraq. It’s not about leaving.

One of the things I did give Trump credit for was that he wasn't a war monger. I thought his foreign policy was feckless, unfocused, often guided by personal greed but not based upon a desire for military adventurism. I felt that much of his conflict with John Bolton was because there was a personality clash between someone who was a warhawk and someone who for all of his bluster really didn't want to fight. That does make the decision to go after Soleimani more mystifying and another sign that this is a chaos Administration without any clear sense of direction. In a place like the Middle East that is not a place to not have any sense of clarity.

How do Trumpers now feel about not passing election interference security legislation because you think it helps your guy?

Iran could do the most damage to the US on cyberwarfare. They know that if they hack voting machines blatantly they will send this country into chaos next November. You want to see chaos, watch all the Trumpers here lose their minds when they find out that Iran is hacking voting machines and the RNC database in order to get Elizebeth Warren elected.

This is exactly why you guys (you know who you are) were so short sited in your attempts to brush off Russia’s involvement in 2016. You think Russia will only be there to help your supreme leader. You guys are foolish beyond belief.
