Nah nah I believe he can contribute in the NBA for sure (Yo Vince Carter is still contributing playing and he's like 42). We just want more! I mean scoring 20 is cool but it would be even better if they didn't lose by 15. Come on CJ, Lillard, Melo they should be a team to be feared.

Oh the "scrub" who doesn't belong on a NBA roster? Yep

In his time off, it clicked for him that if he doesn't play D, you can join the ranks of Stephon Marbury and Amare Stoudemire and play overseas.

He played defensive in Houston. Worked hard at it. Gave it his all. He just isn't good at it. Cant do it. Must have gotten lucky last night.

starting to see Blazers fans get fed up with Melo wondering why Stotts is playing him so much...calling him a black hole on offense, and a traffic cone on defense

Where is Melo’s #1 dick rider on here to tell us how great he is?

Melo scored 10 points on 16 shots last night...

literally the only good thing u can say about him is that he’s been hitting his threes at a good percentage, but that will eventually come back down to earth

in 13 December games, he’s shooting 38% from the field and has a TS% of 47% averaging 15 ppg on 14 shots a game while playing 32 minutes a night...his offensive rating is 93 while his defensive rating is 113

dude is WASHED...he’s just as garbage in Portland as he was in Houston...the only difference is that Portland is committed to starting him, playing him heavy minutes, and making him their 3rd option

Carmelo needs to stop shooting so many mid range shots. If he limited himself to threes and layups and hitting the boards, he would be a viable role player. He will not do that though.

would he be viable though? His defense is such a liability at a premium position (swing, small ball four) that I'm not sure becoming efficient on the offensive end really moves the needle on his net impact.

I think he would be viable to play 15-20 minutes. He wouldn't be anything special though. Someone with his size that can hit volume 3's at 38% and rebound would stay in the league. However his entire life he has been a different type of player. He has never had to be a role player. He isn't going to change now.

I saw his minutes another 35+ night which is really curious when you look at the rest of his stats.

The Blazers were 5-9 when they obtained him. They are 9-11 since. This pretty much sums it up for.

I hated Melo when he was here but now after the year he’s had and the comeback story he represents I’m rooting for him.

Injuries are their biggest problem. That and both sample sizes are still too small. One can only guess if Melo sees productive meaningful minutes down the stretch of healthy Blazers team.

    Keep watching Bobby.........

He certainly gives more effort but he cannot stop anyone laterally.

    He’s done the unthinkable.

He’s managed to play worse than his time in Houston.

.048 win shares per 48 in Houston

.028 win shares per 48 in Portland.

That’s what you call no longer league worthy.

I remember when we let Ariza walk to bring in Melo because he “raised the ceiling” and was a “no-risk move”.
