Are you honestly proposing that second gen Americans are usually woven into the social fabric? Somtimes but sometimes not at all.... some are raised with extreme values that are not compatible with American society.

Many frienda of mine are second gen but some have taken antiAmerican views from their parents. Usually angry fathers. Some reject it mostly.

The racist part isn't saying that we aren't all homogeneous hive mind entities with no cultural differences. The racist part is saying the differences amount to significant moral differences in how life is valued and propensity for violence.

Also, statistically, immigrants have lower crime rates than native born citizens. So not even second generation Americans.

Maybe you are just compartmentalized....white supremicists don't typically love Jews or Isreal...

Do we know more about the suspect's religious/ideological affiliation and his motive?

Not really - the family claims he has severe mental illness. The family also claims he did not belong to any hate group.

He was once arrested for assaulting a police horse.

Nothing to do with race, just what I've noticed. The parents often don't assimilate well and raise their children the old world way and then the kid turns out with some oddities. Many have little to no loyalty to the U.S. and openly express negative views. Hell, many long standing families have people who essentially hate America. Clutchfans is full of these people. I am not saying it is a definitive cause. Just what I have noticed from people I met and the way the speak about the country and society. They question more than Americans, which is a good thing, but to many they are unwilling to accept American as their identity. They identify with their parents' homeland; especially the father's.

This is a great point. I agree fully. I don't support the apartheid state that is modern Israel but I love Jewish people and their beautiful culture and traditions.

I am really not sure how you are misconstruing that as racism? Maybe you are making it racial because you have a confirmation bias. You think something about me so you automatically take it there. I am talking about people's national identities and how many grow up saying they are other nationalities but having a U.S. passport and citizenship their whole entire life. This includes people of all race. Tons of people just really don't like America, but they want to live there and benefit from it. Hell, and this isn't exclusive to second gen btw. There are, as I said, long-standing American families where people today are essentially saying screw this country, this is a terrible country, etc., and not really jiving with Americanism. But, their self hate is largely influenced by society, not their parents' inability to assimilate and refusal to let their kids fully integrate.

People talking about how immigrants don't assimilate into the old world way is racism as old as time. Italians, Irish, Chinese, etc. had this said about them at one time or another in American history. Now it's just replaced with Muslims and Mexicans, etc. It's like you don't even understand the implications of what you're saying.

I have seen plenty of Muslims and Mexicans assimilate wonderfully. You're just putting words in my mouth and building another strawman. Actually this is very common of people and it isn't some new phenomenon. Parents tend to go with what works. I see it abroad in other countries too, as I don't even just draw on my experiences in America. This is just how people are. I can't blame some people for just going with what works, but sometimes it's toxic for the kid and can really make them turn out with a weird chip on their shoulder to society.

Furthermore, my whitest friend who has a foreign dad seems to have gotten the worst and seems a bit anti-American sometimes, while my Muslim and Asian friends are far more accepting of American traditions and sometimes make me feel like a foreigner lol. Nah man, get your race card the F out of here. No one needs your negative vibe.

Very.... very clever move by the administration as it potentially opens up a lot of avenues for them, and also frames the narrative to the benefit of the President.

I am living in another country so I am fresh off the boat and my foreign friends are too (not really just talking about Americans, but from all kinds of places), and they raise their kids stubbornly and don't assimilate in many ways; especially in their households at the end of the day, because they want to raise their kids the way it's done in their home countries. This happens everywhere. There is a level of this that's unavoidable, but I've seen some unhealthy examples set by parents and approaches.

I will say that as for the attack, which is the subject of the thread, it likely this had nothing to do with it. There could be a host of other factors at play.
