He officially clears waivers at 5pm ET. I would assume it would take an hour or two to announce if he had been picked up by someone else so by 8pm we’d probably know if he’s a free agent.
Honestly I wouldn’t get our hopes up for this. I would be shocked if he clears waivers. I just can’t imagine a team like Portland wouldn’t pick him up. They’re desperate for forwards with Collins and Hood not coming back any time soon.
If we don’t pick him up I blame Tillman 100%. He is familiar with harden and westy and he plays a position of need, it’s perfect...only thing that could stop it is cheapness

We also have to waive someone no? I mean I agree with you but if we weren’t willing to sign someone better or to have a significant trade asset in order to avoid the luxury tax I can’t imagine we’re going to be willing to sign Jeff Green
Who cares. The team doesn't defend. Might as well get people who can put the ball in the basket. Not like our currents guys can do that either
Green would be a good player to play in that space between the 3pt line and the paint. Long athlete that can dribble, make the next pass, or finish in the paint. We don’t have one of those and we need one. We not getting a Hong all star at that spot so why not try a vet that knows our stars for a min deal? I’m hoping we can get him. And I don’t care about his past stats or lack of being a super star player, he would fit in our system well as a role player.
He's gonna end up on a contender that isn't named the Houston Rockets. If he ends up being the next Joe Johnson for us, who cares? We have like six guys who don't even play wasting roster spots.
