I like Westy. I love his energy and passion. He is a bad fit for this team though. I fear we will never win a championship or even sniff a WCF with Tillman at the helm again.

 

Ryen R. doesn't like Rockets and Harden-ball at all. Not saying he isn't credible, but dude doesn't like us (and has been on the record). He may be able to write unbiased articles, but in the day of opinion journalism, it's hard to tell when is his opinion, a hot take, versus actual insider information.

There is long standing hatred from Russillo towards the Rockets. The particular beef you are referring to was in reference if CP3 wanted out.

 

Nothing major? Basically you'd have to trade James Harden as well. Because he wouldn't like it at all. It means a total tear down and rebuild.

 

Yeah, I just don't believe it. Not saying RW can't be traded down the line, but my guess is they try to make it work for this season and next. And then they evaluate. Similar to how RW/PG gave it 2 years.

I could see james being ok with this for the right package.

I think if it leads to a major upgrade then he's smart enough to understand what's up.

But I cant see this happening.

 

I realize the league is a different place 30 years on, but the Bulls traded Michael Jordan’s best bud Charles Oakley. Jordan didn’t quit on the team.

If the Rockets were able to trade Westbrook for a player that makes the team significantly stronger, then I think James would come around. If we traded Westbrook for a high draft pick, I think James would still come around so long as the player picked panned out (though it might take him a bit longer). If Westbrook was dumped for cap relief or a bunch of scrubs with short contracts, then I think James would be looking to leave (and I wouldn’t blame him).

But if James quit on the team in the first or second scenario, then that’s as clear a sign as any that he isn’t a championship player.

 

Who would take Westbrook?

 

i would only trade Russ for AD, Kawhi or PG at the moment. or KD if he's healthy next season.

 

There is a big difference between being available and being shopped. I would expect anyone not named Harden would be available.

 

Obviously, Russ is James's buddy....and, we're still kinda scratching the surface here...Russ has shown a lot already.

But, suppose there was a kernel of truth.

In a perfect world, with James's okay, I would ship Westy out in a deal for Love and Covington.

 

Lol, huh? Harden isn’t a championship player because he wouldn’t want to wait around for some draft pick to pan out? In what world? U do realize the dude is 30 right? Unless that pick was immediately being re-routed to another team for a star player, he has every right to demand a trade.
