(The Ringer) Rockets seriously interested in Robert Covington trade

Covington is definitely over rated if we’re acquiring him. He makes around $12M a year meaning we would have to trade 5 guys for him, and seeing Minnesota can’t take 5 guys we would have to include two first round picks just to even convince teams to help us orchestrate this trade (still near impossible). So in that sense, he’s not worth looking into and The Ringer doesn’t know squat.

he's a good player...but he's not worth giving up capela or Gordon for.

anyhow, it looks like gary clark is panning out. if he keeps playing like this, we have a cheaper version.

How fantastic would it have been had we never released Robert Covington so we could keep Francisco Garcia & Omri Casspi?

Half of the posters on here including myself would have never made that move. People were pissed, rightfully. And now we're paying for our mistakes.

I think we thought Garcia was our PJ Tucker at the time. Casspi.... I got nothing. We do give up on young players far too easily. We have since the Van Gundy days.

Nah. It was simply because they had guaranteed money. Le$$ cost to release Covington.

The only way to do it is to give up Capela, buuut you don't do that without having some kind of replacement secured!!!

At the time we released Covington I'd say Garcia was washed up. Wasn't he injured?

Injured or not, he had already tailed off considerably.

Papa Nick was a draft pick and hard worker, but agree completely that RoCo was the better player.

Proof is in pudding, all 3 are out of NBA and Covington is coveted by all the contenders.

I would just sign Jonathon Simmons for the cheap and call it a day at least for the wing position

48th pick overall in 2012 draft (2nd round) and then his rights part of Thomas Robinson trade from Blazers to Rockets.

    Crowder is probably more reasonable?

Hartenstein Nene Green & 2nd for Crowder & Melton

    Starters
    Westbrook Harden House/Crowder Tucker Capela

    Bench
    Rivers Gordon House/Tucker

    Sometimes Bench
    Chandler Sefolosha

    Injury Cover
    Melton McLemore Clark

We hopefully can get a C backup in the buyout market.

Houston Rockets are only window shopping. No way we can pull this off without another glaring hole.

    Replace Melton with Bruno.

    Rockets are crowded at Guard.

We would be in the same situation because our owner would have been too cheap to pay him and he wouldn’t be on our roster.

Melton looks like he can play though. Bruno's been in the league for six years now and looks much worse than him.
