Puts some of the crazy numbers we are seeing in context. We have three players capable of setting a record for highest PER in a season, all in the same year.

I caught that vid, was a good vid.

I'm nitpicking here but Harden should have been on screen cap, since in the vid, he did say Harden and the Rockets personified the model the most. Thinking Basketball going for that freaky Greeky clicks.

I think the reason players over the 50 mark aren't winning chips is they are simply worn out by the end of season.

The system Rudy T built around Dream, which led to an offense with a post threat, shooters, and weak side rebounding but also had players in good position for transition to D (bonus with Dream beating his man downcourt), does not get enough credit in the evolution of the game. Dream warped the floor and created space by the attention he demanded in the lane. Add three shooters (two of whom could also drive) with OT on the backside and you create a tough cover for any D. Great system built precisely for the talent on the team and a precursor to many of the schemes we see today.

The Bucks are Heliocentric but their Focus on Teamplay and Elite Coaching is also unrivalled.

I think there are multiple ways you can have great offenses. But they all include some common philosophy:

    (1) supreme talent needed
    (2) recognition of the basic "math", which means you have to shoot a decent amount of threes and free throws and layups (unless miraculously you are an amazing mid range team... which no team ever is)
    (3) open shots are generally better than contested shots
