Just finished all episodes. Very satisfying. It felt like each episode was a movie in that the runtime was longgg in a positive way.
On the last episode now Spoiler I don’t like the casting for Frangilla , she looks like Brandy, the singer who dated Kobe. Doesn’t really seem menacing at all. Plus don’t like Tris, she’s suppose to be hot. Yen is good
That’s a perfect description. I love the “Toss a Coin to Your Witcher” song. The show is extremely silly but entertainingly. It’s basically a Tenacious D song. Very odd but catchy. The tone of the series is so uneven. It tries to be serious too often and would do better just leaning into how ridiculous it is. Exactly like Zena, Hercules, or even Agents of Shield.
The background is I finished the game and all the extra content and it took .. a really really long time so yes this world is way more fantasy than game of thrones There’s a ton of monsters and crazy magic but that’s how this world is suppose to be. The main character is a mutant, he acts like Wolverine from X-men None of the main characters are regular humans except the the bard
I'm so glad I played The Witcher 2 and 3, otherwise I would have exactly zero clue what is happening the entire time. On the other hand it's a gift and a curse. Because I can't help but think goodness gracious..... what on earth did they do with the casting of Yen and Triss.
I was wondering about the Warrior Queen. She a Mutant? Spoiler Is she Yennifer's Daughter? Rocket River
I can't help but picture someone at some point watching these episodes going... wait... what... Then having a Hot Tub Time Machine revelation. "AHHHH. Like the Terminator. It's cyclical"
Played the Witcher 1-3 and even read some of the books because the world is pretty interesting. Show is pretty accurate adaption although I wished they didn't change the bard's name. I do feel like it's alot to ask for first time viewers to keep up with all the names and places (even more so than GoT) because it jumps every episode to somewhere different with more lore and people. Honestly, from the trailer, I expected the production values to be worse. I'm enjoying the show and frankly forgot alot of the story since it's been years. Agreed that Trish should be hotter and isn't even a red head... I think they'll have a hard time handling how magic works, because right now it's OP when the story demands it.
1.5 episodes in and I have seen more black people just existing as a part of the world in this fantasy series than all the fantasy series in the last decade.
A lot of credit has to go to Henry Cavill. He does a all of his own stunts and probably studied the game since hes a huge gamer and loves the games.
The production values are more than adequate for a TV show. Not everything can have a GOT or LOTR budget. I don't have any attachment to the game versions of the characters. Yennefer is fine AF - best hunchback t*tties ever.
I think it’s cool. Didn’t even realize that it was Cavill until I saw the credits after episode 1. Great combination of magic, action, story, and sensuality. I’m hoping for more sensuality. A bit disjointed and hard to follow at times, but probably because I haven’t played the game or read the novel(s). Look forward to seeing more episodes down the line.
Spoiler Think Pulp Fiction story telling. you'll figure it out when you keep going through the season
