Asked about the Clippers' rivalry with the Rockets moving forward, Rivers joked, "Protect the tunnels. If we do that, I think everything is going to be good."

"I don't know what it is ... but it is something there," he said. "There is no doubt about it. So let's keep playing them."

George and Leonard are new to this Clippers-Rockets rivalry and George says he thinks there needs to be a lot more to make this a true rivalry.

"We ain't won a chip," George said. "Houston ain't won it in forever. It's got to be a little bit more to be a rivalry. We're competing. Both teams are competing. Got to be a little bit more for it to be a rivalry."

The teams meet again on March 5 at Houston.

That’s Russ. I hope he will control himself a bit better in the playoffs. He played great today.

 

I crashed at halftime because I was so disgusted by the lack of effort from Harden, and the lack of defense of our team. I just watched the 2nd half this morning and WOW, what a finish. Now that's the Rockets I love watching.

I hope Russ can move his arm today. That contusion on his right shoulder from hitting the camera man is gonna hurt today. It's ridiculous that guys who hustle their butts off have to risk injury from equipment running out of bounds. He is all hustle, that's for sure. He and Harden compliment each others' weaknesses, which really makes us a much more balanced team offensively. Now we just need that veteran wing with a mean defense to make our starting roster even better.

That, and if we can get that upgrade to House at the wing in the starting roster. I like House, but he still has a lot of developing to do. Right now, I want that veteran with some mean defense. Hopefully we get him before the trade deadline.

 

well my post didn’t age well haha.... spectacular win. That said, while I’m definitely going to boast about this win on nba Twitter, I’m still firmly in the “prove it in the playoffs” camp w this squad. I’ve learned my lesson w these amazing regular season wins.

 

Rockets are 16-6 since their 3-3 start. 16-6 is a 60 win pace and they’re only going to get better.

 

Media just wants to fabricate a rivalry for ratings reasons lol.

The only thing driving this is Westbrook's hate for Beverley. The only beef we've had with the Clippers prior to this was because of CP3 and Austin jawing at each other, but now Austin is in our team and CP3 is no longer with us.

basketmad had a quiet night, only this one post? Yikes...

 

MDa did a great job intermittently subbing Harden. Easily could've been the worst blowout loss in Rockets history but instead came out with a win. I stopped watching in the middle of the 4th quarter, I just thought Westbrook ran out of juice and no way Harden was overcoming that hangover.

 

Not sure if you are calling me a hater from that comment or not. You have to admit he looked like crap in the first half. There’s some weird mode he goes in to from time to time.

He had a great 2nd half though! I stand by my comment that games like that on the national stage will prevent him from winning the MVP.

That’s not hating. It’s truth.

 

yeah you could but i posted this last night, between lou blowing up pretty much instantly then whatever drama the ref and him had simultaneously I didn't really see much of a chance for doc to actually say let me challenge this

 

I missed this game. Did they double harden lots? I’ve read 2 recaps this morning, but all they wrote about was the technicals and the “rivalries.”
