We have reached the 25 game mark. 17-8. I have concluded that the West is not as wide open as it was advertised before the season. You got your Lakers team, you got your Bucks team in the East. You got your surprises. Dallas. Utah not being that good, Blazers not in the race. Phoenix and OKC in the playoff seeds. Where do the Rockets stand compared to where you imagined they would be before the season? What are your takeaways?
.680 and sitting at 4th seed. about what I expected. Watching James has been awesome. Other than him turning into a ball hog and a chucker that is.
They are almost exactly how I expected them to be -Westbrick included- so I am satisfied. Not excited but not dissapointed either. Who knows what can happen in the playoffs..noone expected the Craptors to win either last year.
So far ,no,reason is because we haven't seen them play at their full potential and are too inconsistent on the defensive end,I honestly thought that we would be top 2 in the west off the gate.I still believe we are missing a piece ,the good thing is that I expect morey to add one.
No. Record is OK, but many losses have exposed depth and adjustment problems, even against sub-par teams.
We need that player that can play the 3/4, that can shoot and defend. Thought about EG for Aaron Gordon but that most likely won’t happen.
I know there is even more greatness to be had. Morey has put together a team with few to no flaws. Wish coach would play the youth so all could see the full potential what we have here. When / If coach coaches to this team potential = championship
there is literally a zero percent chance that ANY team would trade AG for Eric. Especially a team that’s retooling though.
[Stay calm] Sitting at .680 and the 4th seed The first 25 games have told us a tremendous amount about the season Rockets have turned the corner Rockets play no real contenders in their first 25 games Spoiler On this date last year... 23-3 Bucks (19-9[2nd]-------Finished 60-22[1st]) 20-7 Sixers (19-11[4th]-----Finished 51-31[3rd]) 18-7 Heat (12-16[9th]-------Finished 39-43[10th]) 17-7 Celtics (18-10[5th]----Finished 49-33[4th]) 16-8 Raptors (23-8[1st]-----Finished 58-24[2nd]) 17-9 Pacers (19-10[3rd]-----Finished 48-34[5th]) 13-11 Nets (12-18[10th]-----Finished 42-40[6th]) 11-14 Magic (13-15[8th]-----Finished 42-40[7th]) 12-16 Hornets (14-14[6th]---Finished 39-43[9th]) 10-15 Pistons (13-13[7th]---Finished 41-41[8th]) 9-18 Bulls (6-23[15th]------Finished 22-60[13th]) 7-16 Wizards (11-18[11th]---Finished 32-50[11th]) 6-19 Cavs (7-22[13th]-------Finished 19-63[14th]) 6-20 Hawks (6-22[14th]------Finished 29-53[12th]) 6-20 Knicks (9-21[12th]-----Finished 17-65[15th]) 23-3 Lakers (17-11[5th]-----Finished 37-45[10th]) 20-7 Clippers (17-11[4th]---Finished 48-34[8th]) 17-7 Mavs (15-12[8th]-------Finished 33-49[14th]) 17-8 Rockets (13-14[13th]---Finished 53-29[4th]) 15-8 Nuggets (19-9[2nd]-----Finished 54-28[2nd]) 15-11 Jazz (14-15[12th]-----Finished 50-32[5th]) 11-13 Thunder (17-10[3rd]---Finished 49-33[6th]) 11-13 Suns (5-24[15th]------Finished 19-63[15th]) 11-14 Kings (15-13[9th]-----Finished 39-43[9th]) 10-15 TWolves (13-15[14th]--Finished 36-46[11th]) 10-16 Blazers (16-13[7th]---Finished 53-29[3rd]) 9-15 Spurs (15-14[10th]-----Finished 48-34[7th]) 8-17 Grizzlies (16-12[6th]--Finished 33-49[12th]) 6-20 Pelicans (15-15[11th]--Finished 33-49[13th]) 5-22 Warriors (20-10[1st]---Finished 57-25[1st])
I'm satisfied and entertained over all but I'd be a lot more satisfied if they'd let Hartenstein play meaningful minutes so we can continue to be undefeated when Hartenstein plays meaningful minutes. I don't think we'll know what this team really is until after buyout season though.
What's exciting to me is our 3 pt shooting percentages. Tucker, House, and McLemore, with the highest percentages on our team so far, definitely need to take more of those shots. Do I think that will happen? Nope Our defense isn't good enough to win a title though. We need that forward who can make us better. EGO coming back won't fix that, and his 3 pt percentages for the last 2 years weren't even as good as what Tucker, House, and McLemore are shooting so far this year.
Well Orlando is the only team that has AG. Yes you are right as of now, but with FRPs and their need for offense there is hope.
The Lakers and Bucks are beatable. now, more than ever, it is going to come down to team match ups in the playoffs. There is no team that is clearly better than everyone else. The Rockets have thrown away 3-4 games with defensive lapses in the second half but overall they have a better record than I expected. House and McLemore have emerged and, I don’t know how, but some how James Harden has continued to improve and is the clear cut best player in the world. The negative is that I had hoped that Westbrook would shoot a little bit better getting open looks on 3’s but that hasn’t happened. I was hoping for 32-33%. Defensively he has improved with a smaller load as I hoped. Again it is all going to depend on whether Morey finds a way to add a 4/5 wing and a 3/4 wing.
