https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...-illness-forced-eagles-rg-brandon-brooks-game Royce White, anyone. Yes, He is now an All-Pro guard....and the Texans didn't pay him. Anxiety forcing you out a game the team needs?
Not making light, but it is probably why the Texans probably didn't give him a contract extension. Good or Bad, Right or Wrong.
PFFFT. Let me get this straight, is your way of thinking: BoB/Texans organizations r genius to predicts or realize beforehand that Brooks anxiety will hinder him for one game four years into the future hence they let him go before he developed into an All-pro just to avoid the anxiety issue? Do u honestly believe what uttter rubbish u type defending this organization?
God, you are an idiot. JUST STOP ****ING POSTING. The Texans knew about his condition. It could have played a part on whether to give him the money he wanted. Teams do that all time. Hell, look at what the Rockets had to deal with in Royce White. Teams do not know how mental health issues will affect player development. It would not have been O'Brien, it would have been Rick Smith and others in the front office. Some teams don't want to deal with those issues, and it doesn't make it right or even a good football/business decision. Stop trying to blame BO'B for everything...you need help. Seriously.
An all-pro SUPERBOWL CHAMPION with a mental health issue. Raise your hand if you'd take a Texans superbowl win if it meant your guard has to miss a game due to his sickness like once every two seasons. Spoiler
STfu. U brought up player's anxiety issue that hinder him one game to justify/defend that Texans/BoB made the right call to not sign an all-pro. Similar to how trading Clowney was the right call. If it doesn't make it right or even a good football/business decision. then why the fk would u bring this player up in a thread where we are bashing BoB making a sht trade? U should honestly stop trying to defend every sht thing BoB does and spin it in a positive light. He makes mistake, let's just hope he improves from it or get fired for incompetence.
ARE YOU ****ING DENSE? Rick Smith is the person who would have made the decision on Brooks since he was the one responsible for acquiring players. You so ****ing delusional it is SAD. You HATE for O'Brien has you so blinded that you spew NOTHING tainted opinions. I didn't say it was right or wrong.....I said it probably was a consideration.
Really dumb move for O'Brien to run off Brooks and Jones. Not to mention brown. All those guys are playing at an all pro level now. O'Brien "fixed" the problem by using a million picks and making the ol at least mediocre
"Probably a consideration" = weak ass attempt to paint the texans franchise/BoB in a good light. U r fking dumb if u think rick smith has full power on who to keep and get rid of. Last i check BoB is a hc, they have power and can have input on who should b on the roster. If rick wanted to get rid of brooks, he doesnt do it without talking to BoB. Hell BoB probably thought he could replace Brooks w/ someone better and gave his blessing. Anyways, Like i said y did u bring up brooks when this is a thread shtting on the shtty trade BoB did to get rid of clowney?
Rick Smith was the GM. He had the power. You are a little b****. Keep whining about BO'B. Rick Smith was responsible for getting player in. You mean HE thought he could replace both of them with cheaper players in FA and the Draft. Matter of fact, he drafted a Center...who ended up being a bust and also sign a guard....another bust. Rick Smith was ultimately responsible for the Oline problems until he left. Your b**** ass...again...doesn't know ****.
BTW, Rick Smith didn't run D. Brown off. The was McNairs doing. If anything Rick was forced to get rid of Brown. As far as Clowney, that was all BoB.
U are a fking dumbass if u believe Smith was the reason the oline decline. Before BoB came onto the team, who fking built the oline? Smith. After BoB came on, the oline slowly got shttier. Hell, why didn't we fire the oline coach when this was occurring? cause it's BoB guy. Don't gotta ride BoB **** everytime bro, it's embarrassing. BoB has really done nothing that great for our franchise, for u to ride his junk so hard every single post. Honestly what do u think a HC does when it comes to the players on the team? HE CHOOSES WHO HE WANTS TO B ON IT and let the GM handles the contract.
They attempted to resign Brooks when FA started but he blew them off. Brooks even said he didn’t like playing for O’Brein.
He's going to be out for the yr and it's doubtful that you would get a 3rd Rd comp pick for a multi injured Clowney
Are you kidding me? This is the first time in 3 years Clowney will miss any significant time. Nobody predicted he would be out this year. The real decision was whether to franchise him or extend him. After they blew the trade route during the draft, they should have never announced to him that they intended to trade him. He would have signed the tender and we would have had Clowney for the year. Maybe he gets injured maybe he doesn’t. Trading him for a 3rd round pick was idiotic. Nobody with any kind of football acumen denies that. Even with this injury (don’t know if he’s actually out for season) he would be worth more in the off season in trade or even to franchise again. By the way, we didn’t use the cap money and we paid half his salary, what a joke. Virtually no GM or respected football expert shares your opinion. It was uniformly panned as one of the worst trades ever.
LOL. Clowney injuries have always been there. This "Core" injury is a repeat of injuries he had in 2014 (Sports Hernias). He has always been one with nagging/repeating injuries. They have not always kept him from playing....but he has a definite injury history. The cap money is irrelevant this season. Not paying comes into play next season. The 3rd round pick turned into Conley and Jacob Martin looks like he is getting better. Again, people were not giving you a 1st round pick or 2nd round pick for Clowney. Actually, many experts and GMs feel Clowney is not worth the money or what they perceived they would have had to give up. Hence, no body traded or made a serious offer for him.
