So, we have seen the inquiry going on, started out with a decent majority favoring the inquiry, the question of this August body is do you still feel the inquiry is warranted? What say you? DD
While a bit repetitive these polls get the temperature of the audience every couple of weeks. Right now, once public discourse has started.....I wonder whether folks are still behind them, who do you think is winning, and are they necessary? DD
Why do you keep making these polls? Everybody in this forum has made there views known one way or the other. What's the point?
Just taking the temperature, I think the longer these go on the less likely that people pay attention or care, or maybe get annoyed. Just curious - not that big of a deal, tbh. DD
The evidence against Trump supports impeachment. You can't break laws and be above it. Republicans often state that Trump doesn't know better so therefore there's no crime since there was no intent. Except that ignorance has never been an excuse for any crime, as far as I know. As someone who gave him the benefit of the doubt that he could be better than candidate Trump, I'm very much disappointed in his and his family's behavior. Dude could easily be charged with other crimes.
The world is watching how we handle the rule of law, and if we are capable of holding our corrupt leaders accountable. The United States has long been a beacon for freedom and a shining example of the good and power that people can have in a Democracy. We can show that we don't allow those who hold power to abuse it for their own gain. Or...
Support for Trump's impeachment unchanged after hearings begin The national online poll, which ran from Thursday to Friday morning, showed that 44% of U.S. adults said Trump “should be impeached,” while 40% said he “should not be impeached.” A similar poll that ran earlier in the week found 45% supported impeachment and 42% opposed it. The Reuters/Ipsos poll also found that about 68% of Americans said they were following the hearings. That includes 28% who said they were watching or listening to the hearings on live broadcasts. About 25% said they had not paid any attention to the impeachment proceedings in Congress. Among those paying attention, 41% said the hearings had made them “more supportive” of impeaching Trump, while 25% said they had made them “less supportive.” That finding, combined with the overall lack of movement in public opinion regarding impeachment, suggests the hearings so far have mostly provided people with a rationale for their earlier support or opposition to impeachment.
Legally and morally this is the correct thing to do, but as a practical matter I feel like it's pissing into the wind. Badly need something to zap the proletariat out of its slumber on this.
Because it is effecting taxes, it is bankrupting our country, every penny spent on an unnecessary war, is a penny away from fixing roads, bridges, healthycare - anything. It is slowly eroding our freedoms - it effects everyone. Not to mention climate change - having an effect on all of us and our children, grand children. DD
That's part of it. There's a real sense of hopelessness that isn't completely unwarranted. However, even if you're so inclined, there's still a line in the sand of overt corruption that will spark outrage/action.
I agree but I don't know if this is it. I think this is just the beginning and there will be other more corrupt things leaking between now and the summer because frankly Trump and his family are not very smart and are very greedy.
PSA: The cool kids say "ok boomer". No punctuation or capitlzation. You'll give away your generation by using Ok, Boomer, which effectively defeats the use of the meme.
