And down goes yet another trump defense... that "it was all heresay, no direct witnesses", as the first two direct witnesses are testifying in open to congress...

I think we can assume that when someone says "I don't know who initiated the idea," they mean it was Trump's idea.

Witnesses to the July 25 call are not very important. It's great they provided their testimony on what they do know. But, we know what happened on that call. We have a transcript. The public is going to be misled into thinking that the smoking gun is in this call if it's anywhere. And that's not so; it's just one of the building blocks.

I agree the first call was only the first call, and not the one of greatest importance. I posted that when trump released the second version of "transcripts" of the first call.

That said, I also think it is important that direct (credible, respected) witnesses to the call stand up and tell what they heard, because it does destroy one of the trump defenses...

Trump impeachment proceedings a 'hearsay hearing' of 'griping by no-name diplomats,' Jesse Watters says

I do agree its a building block to the total investigation and if deemed appropriate, prosecution. But I also disagree with the idea that we have seen a "transcript." The trump defense has presented a number of "transcripts" and none have been accurate nor complete. So the direct testimony we are hearing helps educate on what happened (and to what extent the trump defense has been dishonest with what they are saying and doing).

Honest question... wasn't another trump defense that zelensky was unaware that aid was withheld and that the aid was conditional?

After nunes first tried to get Lt. Colonel Vindmen to out the whistleblower, nunes then tried to disrespect him by calling him "Mr. Vindman"...

Nothing unhealthy to see and confront there, GOP. It's totally normal to make an armed service member who takes an oath to tell the truth to their country fear for their family's safety. Totally normal.

It's also totally normal to subsume an entire political party and its ideals to the ego of one so-called man.

There is a special place waiting in hell for donnie dip$hit, nunes, and jordan...

Too bad that approximately 36% of the country is either incapable or unwilling to admit the reprehensibility of these shitwads.

The telling point is: the GOP could present the very people whose actions are in question and ask them their intent and understanding under oath, but they won't.

Are their different scenario's for the Senate trial?

If the Republican defense of Trump is "Obama, Biden, Burisma, Javelin", then impeachment is guaranteed.

The Impeachment Trial going to the Senate is all but guaranteed. But falling short of the 67 votes in the Senate to Remove The President From Office is also all but guaranteed. It's 53 to 47 by party so you would need 20 GOP Senators to vote against the President.

This is all a political exercise, who is worthy of election and who is not in the national election of 2020.
