MVP Statement Game

    Tonight was a statement game for Harden. The short handed rockets get destroyed tonight without Harden.

    With Harden, they absolutely dismantle the mighty Clippers.

    It was impossible to watch this game and objectively conclude that Harden isn’t the MVP. He dominated Kahwai head to head. He fought through one of the toughest defensive teams in the league for 47. He hit multiple clutch shots down the stretch. He made key defensive plays in crunch time.

    And that last three pointer was a filthy made for sports center highlight that will be played over and over for months.

    Add the fact that he is averaging more points so far than any player in NBA history other than Wilt and there is no plausible narrative against him being MVP front runner.

    Agreed. Kawhi played awesome against two MVP's while being short-handed without Paul George. Valiant effort by the future MVP. Harden had a meh game and solidified 2nd place in the voting, but shoots entirely too much, is a ballhog, and is quite overweight.

    Sadly we said that last January when Harden single handledly beat the super Warriors. In a much more epic game. And the voters dgaf about that game by April.

    Yup.

    Anyone without bias could notice Kawhi tending to his resting leg all game. He was never 100%.

    Despite that, what a comeback by Kawhi only to fall short just because his teammates and his coach let him down.

    As soon as Harden has a bad game against any MVP candidate or loses that game despite amazing stats towards the end of the season, they would crown that player then and there as the MVP.. same story different year

    MVP? Morey wins Chinese Badge of Honor before the media gives Harden another MVP.
