The trolling on this site gets to be a little too much thus we have our ignore button. So I'm curious about who the real Rockets fans out there have on their ignore list? What does it take for you to hit that button? Do you feel good after adding folks to your list or do you wonder if you're numbing the experience on here? What is your policy? Thank you for your response if you give one.
I don't put anyone on ignore and I rarely report posts. I think the only exception to that was Dei who was banned for his unabashed racism.
LOL, I have 18 people on ignore. I enjoy this site much better with them on ignore. I will not share who they are but I essentially placed them their because they were guilty hate posting, racism (cleverly wrapped in an SJW facade) and aggressively going after other posters who disagreed with their ideology. Additionally I had a bad habit of responding to their posts in a way that I didn’t like from myself.
Any chance you'd share that list with me privately? I'm trying to make my experience on here a little bit nicer.
I rarely even look at usernames before digging into their posts, and has always seemed easy enough for me to scroll past the ones that don't interest me. I've seen complaints about, Maybe if there was someone following me around replying to me in every subforum, but I never get into mix ups or even extended back and forths with anyone after my initial shitpost, maybe one more follow up if necessary and move on. That's where I gather most of the ignores stem from.
About 50 people. A dozen or so should be taken off now that the Stros season is over, until they piss me off again next spring, but the rest are permanent.
just pick 18 perceived leftists - that’s his ignore list, I would guess. but I like what he says in terms of ignoring posters who bring out your own worst tendencies. Good rule! Ignore lists are probably very political, though I’ve a bunch for navigating the GARM, and it’s super helpful. Happy to message you my list, FWIW.
Lulz...looks like I have over 100 on ignore. But my approach is better stated as “squelching” the Game Thread. not about agreeing or disagreeing, just noise control in game thread, so it’s easier to read. Did the same thing back in days of IRC channel game thread. If I could (previous bbs software allowed this), I’d save the list and turn it On only during game time, and Off afterwards. I also squelch a few prolific GARM thread creators, to keep 1st page clean, using same approach as Game Thread. And again, same tactic, I’ll squelch anyone who creates the Lin thread in the Dish.
I wear it as a badge of pride to get certain trolls here to have me on ignore. Thank you. There are some folks that are annoying af and literally live here and volume post to where its unenjoyable. If you put them on ignore still cant avoid. Its more a matter of spotting the good trolls- the 600 series had rubber skin. We spotted them easy, but these are new. They look human - sweat, bad breath, everything. Very hard to spot. I had to wait till he moved on you before I could zero him. Lol
I used to have nobody on ignore. Just checked, there are a few people on there. For some of them, not sure why.
Making the GARM readable sounds like a losing battle. You’d be better off starting a game day thread in the classifieds forum.
