Voted on yes. Passed no. The House and committees vote on all sorts of things. Most never get past perfunctory commuter votes.

No one likes it, not even republican. They really have no choice. The well is too poisoned and it’s too late. You either do the right thing and your career as a republican is over or continue down the poison path.

What Pelosi did is pretty unusual. Normally, the House impeach and the Senate runs the trial. I was initially wondering why the heck is she allowing Trump people to question witnesses. But because the Senate under GOP control will do everything in their power to hide Trump's crimes during the trial, the DEM essentially decided to move the trial from the Senate into the House and broadcast it live, giving them the best chance at controlling the process and exposing the crimes to the public. It still, of course, won't move the needle, but the republican in the Senate will have a hell of a time acquitting a known criminal.

After Trump is acquitted by the Senate, there is a good chance he will continue to use the fed gov, probably openly even, to his advantages. The republican has no choice but to tag along. 2020 will tell us if the threat to the republic and danger to democracy will be halted. 2015/16 foreshadowed this risk.

It seems like Republicans have no choice to admit that Trump committed a crime. They are going to with the strategy of asking whether this particular crime is bad enough to go down in history as the first removal of a President from office.

There is no longer any doubt that Trump has committed a crime and even Republicans know it. The question is will they hold him accountable.

you mean the little cherry on Gowdy’s hypocrisy parfait? Okay. It’s all fairly consistent. He’s in a group of people swearing allegiance to one flawed man instead of to their party’s former principles or to their country. More sadness and head shaking.

You say this like it is some sort of feather in his cap, instead of a red flag.

Is your point that Gowdy is an even bigger hypocrite?

Now hes just flipped the switch. Trump is a constitutional cancer and has turned the GOP is a party of hell.

History will remember this as Russia's defeat of the United States. Not sure if our country will ever fully recover
