Trump Administration: What *exactly* has it accomplished?

There are 400 house bills sitting in the Senate that they refuse to discuss, McConnel is stopping governance......big time.

As for Trump - nothing - not a shred of decent legislation.

Those were not the promises of Trump's campaign.

They promised to win the trade war with China and that trade wars were easy to win. They promised that Mexico would pay for a wall to be built. The other two have been achieved.

 

Pointless and harmful trade war, humanitarian disaster with immigration, and a big fat wealth transfer to the rich.

That's about it in terms of stuff Trump actually has control over.

 

He's not politically correct and that's not only cool, it's boomer cool.

 

My co-worker is a Trumper. I'm like, "I really don't see the appeal, he's awful, he's such a liar," etc etc.
She responds, "Well, he's accomplished so much."
Me: "Like what?"
"Immigration. We have to protect our borders."

You wouldn't believe how this is such an issue with sixty-something Caucasians. Or maybe you would. They support Trump en masse, and a large part of that is how he is single-handedly holding back the brown tide with a broom.

 

I was speaking from Trump's POV so yea I get that, but his base doesn't care.

 

He stuck it to the libs and called them all names.

That is the only thing that his core voters care about in life.

He also protected us from roving migrant caravans of post apocalyptic illegal aliens who were totally straight out of "Mad Max" and were coming to rape our women and children.

 

His core base literally do not care about anything he does, it is just that simple which is between 30-40% of the us voters.

 

I would say they've succeeded in tipping the balance of the Supreme Court and would view that as an accomplishment.

I don't know how Trump has managed this, but he has not had sex on the WH lawn with p*rn stars and playboy bunnies. Everything else is a plus.

Was there ever a chance that the Trump administration was not going to get conservative Supreme Court justices?

 

If you're a Bannon type, the administration has accomplished a ton in terms of creating chaos and making headway in unraveling the stable long-standing structures of our governance. I'm not even kidding. I'm sure Bannon thinks this has been monumentally successful, with long-lasting change/damage to the state.

Where Bannon and I might agree (not sure on his part) is that Trump should have focused on infrastructure and he would be waltzing to re-election, but whatever.

 

According to CATO, Obama deported more per year than Trump has (for his first two years).
Bring that up next time you talk to her. I'd be interested to see how the comment 'Well, Obama removed more per year than Trump' would play out.
