Russ has an MVP trophy. Of course he has stretches where he plays like a superstar.

 

Well the last 2 seasons in Utah he shot 38% (3P%) in 38 games and last year 44% (3P%) in 50 games.
I haven’t looked up his recent pre season numbers but I felt he did well enough (greater than first 3 games).

I know 38 games and 50 games are small sample sizes, but I wouldn’t mind if he shoots 38% in 38 games for us.
Hopefully he can turn it around.......but I know what you mean, @DaDakota . His history is not solid.

one of the biggest things regardless of russ' shooting #'s is going to be his sheer athleticism/size at the pg position.

Still looking to see how his defense will look as well. Right now, it looks like Harden's weaknesses are being covered by Russ in the small sample size we have.

Im not saying Westbrook will be a 50% 3pt shooter but he has shot over 35% on 3 before. Also this is a new system new team and he isnt the leader. There's no reason to assume he wont keep playing this way.

 

Except an entire history of playing otherwise. Past actions are the greatest indicator of future actions. It's hard for me to believe it just took a few months with the Rockets for him to completely change his game. But again, I hope you guys are right. We'll be a very difficult team to beat if you guys are right.

 

Look at it this way, Chris Paul was never an heavy isolation player but once he came here he changed his game, maybe Westbrook can do the same and change his habits...hope costs nothing

A 37 yo PJ Tucker shouldn't be playing 38 minutes a night...

What happens if PJ gets injured? are we bound for a bottom 4 seed then?

EG is our only trade piece for a PF at this point and he's playing like he wants to be traded.

 

You ignored my previous post and just said the same thing over again. Westbrook is in a different system, different team, different coach, he's not the leader so he will have the ball less. If the past is the biggest indicator then look to when he had another superstar at James caliber (Durant) they made it to the WCFs.
