I love how the ENTIRE narrative today is about Scherzer?

"So what are the keys to the game today?"

    "Scherzer is feeling good"

"Yeah but, how do the Nats win today?"

    "Scherzer may start tomorrow"

"I don't think you understand the question"

"Can you imagine a Willis Reed moment with Scherzer coming out firing up the crowd?"

"Um, the game is played in Houston"

Appreciate your fandom from overseas. Also, "y'all" is more appropriate for Houston fans. "You guys" is mostly outside the South. See below. Linguistically, "y'all" is far superior anyway, IMO. Hope y'all across the pond have a rewarding reason to stay up tonight.

Open question: What would be an appropriate Mortal Kombat FATALITY for the Astros finishing off the Nationals at MMP?

    .

A bunch of Baby Sharks rising up from the ground and tearing the team to pieces? The team being run over by a slow moving train piloted by a fat man? Knocking Juan Soto's head into a yellow seat in the right-field upper deck?

    So many possibilities.

Nothing to do with nothing, but I remember being a kid going to the livestock auction in Fredericksburg with my grandad, and seeing a hand-drawn sign with a snarling guy with a knife in his hand saying "It Pays To Use Your Knife". Meaning steer calves sell for more than bull calves. I still remember that sign. Seems appropriate tonight.

Nationals are capable of winning, but an extra day rest for JV should help. Seemed he hadn't really recovered from the foolish short-rest request in the Tampa series. The offense is clicking well now too.

Really want this to end tonight.

I've had a Pumpkinator during each of the 3 wins.

Gotta do it for the team.

JV pitched better than Cole the first time, hopefully he can do it again.

I'll be going with the Crawford Bock once again. My wife will go with what we are calling Baby Shark's Blood...Pineapple juice for La Pina, Cranberry juice for the blood of a baby shark, splash of sprite for some bubbles, and vodka for fun.
