I’ve read that accusation A LOT on here over the years, and I’d love to hear from some of the accusers on what they saw rebounding-wise last night, since Westbrook grabbed 16 of them.

Hard to say they were letting him grab boards when Capela had 12. Dude just fights for them, his anticipation is on a elite level

Nope, not that I noticed. Dude was SKYING for those boards, a good amount were contested, he may about to be 31 but he's still got elite athleticism.

let’s not act like he wasn’t rebound hunting at times in OKC in order to secure his triple doubles...we’ve watched the games and seen the clips

    as for last night, no

this team sucks at rebounding so the more he can get the better

Who gives a ****...atleast this guy is busting his ass and trying to grab those rebounds.

This teams' been needing a hustle guy for years.

He got a lot of long rebounds. He's just all over the floor. It was a little worrisome that he played about as well as we can possibly expect and we still lost. Harden and Gordon just had terrible shooting nights.

    Yup. Westbrook was impressive athletically.

Clearly coasting in the pre-season if this was any indication.

DREB% was 84.5 for the team, huge improvement from last season's averge 70.

He was not stealing rebounds. I don't think he really ever stole him. There were times when his teammates donated them to him. That wasn't happening last night either.

Never saw him as a rebound stealer.

Just that in OKC it was clear that the game plan was to gift him rebounds.

Implying that his rebounds weren't legit.

(But the 16 he grabbed last night were?)

I feel like he kind of was.

Let's not pretend stats don't matter. They do. And Russ will chase them, as will all players.

There were moments in this game when I saw him staying down court when he could've just let the big man get it and start the fast break ahead of the defenders.

I would much rather see him fast break more often than get the rebound on his own every time.

    Nope.

All his boards were much needed and I hope he keeps it up.

I’m not going to complain about a dude grabbing a bunch of boards on a team with a rebounding problem.

10 more. Still fake rebounds? Stat-padding?

    I’m curious.

How can he be stealing rebounds when everyone else sucks as rebounding.

In OKC they were boxing out for him to get the stat, no one boxes out here, Russ has to fight for them

I like that he’s actually hunting for them...it seems like some of our other players are Too passive in the rebounding dept...guys that should be hustling for everything but aren’t. Russ is on another level with his energy...something that Has been sorely missed on this team.
