are you outraged because some random employee whose name you had never heard before 3 days ago lied to his employer, or are you outraged because there's some DV/male-female undertones at play?

I’m outraged that his stupidity caused the awesomeness of this special team to get subsumed in this narrative.

Fire Osuna, fire Bregman and anyone else who spoke in favor of Osuna (because obviously Bregman supports DV when he called him "a guy you want on the mound for you."), fire Luhnow, force Crane to sell the team and then the SJW will be happy (but probably not)

People who think other human beings are incapable of personal redemption are also pieces of ****.

Imagine equating slapping your woman around with child rape.

No one cares about your elitist sob story stupid. Journalists have no credibility with most of the working class public for a reason. You have blood on your hands. To call you scumbags is an understatement.

that's just the media my man. it's what they do. either you can see through it or you can't. the initial story that was fed to the public to digest however they wanted was a male employee threatened and yelled at a bunch of women reporters rubbing domestic violence in their faces, devoid of any context whatsoever.

this should've been virtually a non-story. and could've been. but people are by and large stupid.

"longstanding questions". i mean this is ridiculous? what did they do besides trade for osuna? what about the myriad other teams including the almighty yankees who have employed players with a possible DV incident in their past?

the world is getting dumber daily.

If multiple journalists confirm it, it must be true! The New York Times should’ve never apologized for supporting the WMDs in Iraq hoax. They should’ve just followed your logic and claimed other journalists were in favor of the invasion.

Evan D is the worst (well, that's not true JDJO is by far the worst to ever come through this town), and I'm glad he was ran out on a rail from this beat. He should feel bad about how terrible he is.

I agree it could be perceived as a dangerous situation but we have no idea what actually happened here.

Do you actually think Footer was afraid Taubman was going to physically assault her?

I think we are mostly in agrreement about this I just think the threatening part is overblown.

For about two years, you've been telling your cousin that you think his brother is an a-hole. You hate his brother, you think he's the scum of the earth, you hate that he's part of your family. You tell everybody constantly what you think of his brother, and shame on your cousin's family for loving him and not thinking the way you think. Finally, at a birthday party, your cousin has had enough, he tell you "F*** YOU!"

You then taddle to your cousin's dad what your cousin said to you. His dad asks him, "did you say that?!" Your cousin makes up a lie and tells his dad it was a big misunderstanding, the dad believes him, and tells you quit making up stuff and leave my boy alone. Later, people that were at the party start telling your cousin's dad what they saw and heard. The dad is appalled, embarrassed, and feels like a fool for taking his son at his word.

The dad then comes back to you, and tells you, "I was wrong, my son lied to me, I shouldn't have believed him, I should've believed you. I'm sorry. He has been cut off from his allowance and is grounded permanently."

Astros are the dad, Taubman is the cousin, Osuna is the cousin's brother, and the reporter is you. After all of this, who should you be mad at?? Surely not the father, which is why all these reporters that insist on continuing to blast the Astros are ridiculous. Be mad at Taubman for taunting you, not his employer. If you want to keep calling your cousin's brother an a-hole, that's your prerogative, but don't be surprised when your cousin reaches his tipping point and calls you out. Taubman should've known better and kept his cool, but the reporter drove him to that point. The narrative that by giving Osuna a chance at being a pro again means they somehow do not take DV seriously drives ME crazy, let alone the execs that made the decision to bring him in.

Quit being angry at the wrong people, quit being judgmental, quit making generalizations. Apologies issued, let's move the eff on and try to win this damn World Series!!

Careful reporters, an expose piece about the Yankees or any big market team might cut into your bottom line.

After trading Chapman away to America's loveable losers, the Chicago Cubs, for Gleybar Torres, a future MVP candidate , Chapman won the WS with the Cubs.

The Yankees then gave him a $100 million to pitch for them again after both teams capitalized on the situation.

1 observer noted that a male serving popcorn in the nosebleeds wore a DV awareness bracelet but was drowned by confetti falling from the rafters. An assault by George Steinbrenner , a jewish male, and thomas Rickets, a white male, on those who have already been assaulted.

All was forgotten, the village rejoiced in unison, and Alison Footer saved her report on the toxic culture in America's big market teams for another team, another situation, another scenario that would be more profitable to the peaks and valleys of that time.

All the "deep thinkers" in sports with an opinion are the exact same hypocrites, from Kerr to Lebran to the journalists. Enjoy their entertainment value, but do not listen to a thing they say. Their narrative is based on what benefits their bottom line

Social media has REALLY strained free speech.

In the past someone could say something in their personal life or write a letter expressing an opinion that was unpopular and in most cases it would be excused as their own personal and private views.

Now with twitter and facebook and other media, the lines are blurred.

In the case of Taubman, he did do and say what he did while acting in his capacity as the assistant GM so it is a little more black and white.

However, what would the fall out have been had Taubman on his own personal facebook or twitter account said "**** yeah! So glad we got Osuna!"

Do we no longer get to separate our own personal opinions from those of our jobs or families of friends?

I had an attorney that worked for me. He was a very polite and cordial employee and very professional. He did his work very well and he never discussed his politics at work and I never had anyone complain that he was unfair to them. However he was incredibly involved and invested in the Right to Life movement to the point that he condoned the bombing of abortion clinics and he was involved in a church that was IMO racist and did not believe in the separation of church and state. I found this all out by accident as he was filing pro life briefs and was arrested in the past several times for pro-life protests.

I never fired him. I never discussed it with him. I waited for it so somehow spill over into his work on in comments about it at work...... it never happened. I did not have any employees claim he was racist, or judgmental or inappropriate. He never mentioned religion at work. He was a model employee.

So in the past, if you didn't break the law and you didn't discuss your radical beliefs at work........ you could keep your job..... because public was public and private was private.

That isn't the case so much now...... everyone seems to have no separation.
