Right. But before the rain delay, game 6 was a 3pm opener. At least they pushed that back.

No. There were always 2 times for game 6. They would have played an afternoon game if there was an NLCS game 7... otherwise, it’s a night game.

Harris had three really bad games last year. He gave up 10 runs in 1.1 innings. Take away those three games and his stats are similar to this year.

having players avoid taking red eyes would make much more sense than starting a game 4 hrs later

Better win at least one of them.

The Yankees winning both and coming back to Houston 3-2 will feel much different than last year when they were coming back to Houston up 3-2.

Ah ok, I understand. I can see that, but having a day game after a night game would also present its own issues. No matter how you slice it having to wedge in 4 games due to a postponement is going to make things difficult on the players. Just blame NY for not building a new Yankee Stadium with a damn roof.

Well I guess Hinch is going for it. I respect that, but the Astros could be screwed in Game 6 if they don't take one of the next two in Yankee Stadium.

Astros announced Greinke game 4, Verlander game 5.

I’m good with that if Greinke wins. If he loses, fly Verlander out for game 6 and pitch Urquidy game 5.

They played day games after night games all season.

travel days usually do feature early games, especially if both teams need to travel.

I like how Hinch is doing it better, if I have to start Urquidy in a game, much better for that to be a home game than a game in Yankee stadium.

It’s already set at this point.

while I initially thought what you were thinking, I also respect that these pitchers do need to know more than one day ahead of time as to when exactly they’re pitching.

Verlander now preparing to pitch Friday. Asking him to Stay or switch to Saturday depending on a result of a game that is likely ending at midnight eastern time is a little difficult.

You would risk going down 2-3 and have Verlander pitch game 6, rather than have Verlander trying to win a pivotal game 5 if Greinke loses?

Then Cole would pitch on short rest in game 6 if facing elimination.

Again I don’t see how hard any of this is.
