Speaking of education, his entire sound bite is full of mistakes. I am assuming had he tweeted it, it would have looked like this: "Daryl morey...your stupid...you should of waited a week.."
There are so many layers of hypocritical presumption in your comments. Most of the posters on this board know very little about the current situation or the history of Hong Kong, and I strongly suspect Morey falls under the same crowd. What started as a democracy movement in June had turned into rioting and senseless street violence by August. Most of the Hong Kongers are against the rioters and against vandalism and violence, so by tweeting a message of support for the Hong Kong "protesters", Morey is speaking against the will of Hong Kong people. I don't know what LeBron's primary motivation is in making his comments, maybe it's financially related, maybe he genuinely thinks Morey is poorly informed on the Hong Kong situation, or maybe he's tired of being hounded by reporters on a topic that has nothing to do with basketball. But for those posters who have been championing freedom of speech, it's bitterly satirical to hear the same posters criticizing LeBron for exercising his freedom of speech.
It will require writing a whole article, which I don't have the time. Let me just say this. a few western journalists were shocked to see what was happening when they actually went visit the place and talk to people who live there on both sides of the problem, rather than just read about it. Not everybody in Hong Kong, who oppose the CCP, support the rioters. It is a deeply divided place right now. Most "uneducated" people on this when they say they support Hong Kong, they assume that they are supporting the "pro-democracy" movement. But they have no idea what the rioters are doing to the city and the innocent citizens of Hong Kong. I have said about this in some other HK-China threads. I don't want to get dragged into political debate. So that's that.
Authoritarian government using crony capitalism to for a free society to bow down. LOL. Brony-Bron thought he was being clever delivering the only stock phrase approved by China. Given the NBA wants a lock down on the topic, he should have just passed on saying anything, if we wasn't gonna take a stand for justice. Those fans must really need those social credit points. Don't wanna get sent to a re-education camp or become an organ donor. Best to err on the side of getting the easy points so you can stay employable, get a home loan, or travel the country.
It's going to be really funny when Ryan Anderson lights them up from 3 because bron don't feeling like rotating....
LOL?Satirical? Well guess what..Critisizing is also freedom of speech. Did anyone here say that Lebron should have his contract terminated or thrown into prison for what he said and tweeted? No. But Lebron HIMSELF said that about Morey. Lebron HIMSELF attacked freedom of speech. Your post clearly shows that you have no clue about what freedom of speech is and means.
It is probably his boys on the Lakers like Kuzma encouraging him to speak out. Relax, he can only damage his own image. Nobody wins here, should listen to Fertitta and zip it, listen.

So that's that.[/QUOTE] Okay, most movements create problems for citizens who are either too scared to join the movement or don't mind the status quo. Also, most movements are polarizing and divisive. Morey probably knows a thing or two about the situation and based on his values expressed his opinion. Though I cannot be certain of that, there's nothing to suggest that Morey was ill-informed about the topic either.
Free speech is so misunderstood that you have to think if the Founders could see us today they'd scratch that from the Bill of Rights and start over.

Enes Kanter basically says 'stuff it Lebron' Kanter is from the dictatorship of Turkey. He's seen and lived oppression first-hand. https://www.dailywire.com/news/turk...sOvt-XzVNyEGsV8Jm9TJymx5s_ytIFcyEwYHOZPMsNLsU Lebron has lived with a silver spoon in his mouth, mansions, an amusement park pool in his backyard, "Chosen One" tattooed across his back, limo drivers, agents, advertising sponsors and adoring fans. Yeah, Lebron is surely an authority when it comes to suppression of freedom and oppression. Such a 'hard' life he's had to deal with. He's upset because some of his earnings have been jeopardized. FOLLOW THE MONEY. . . FREEDOM>>>money
CAREFUL. Our Constitution and Bill of Rights have created the Greatest Nation on Earth and basically, the last bastion of freedom in the world today. The whole structure of that document and our government were debated and well thought out by those who lived through and escaped tyranny, and even fought and gave lives for their own (AND YOUR) freedom. Tinkering with that document and those freedoms to 'update' them is a bad idea.
