And none of those hiccups were on him really. About 3 dropped TDs and all those missed kicks. He even used that challenge well. KC gets away with so many BS picks plays and offensive holding I think that flag really alerted the refs.
never a doubt in my mind what was gonna happen today Pat Mawho? Watson wins his matchup? Check Texans win the game? Check
The Texans outscored the Chiefs 28-7 over the final three quarters. They held the ball for 35 minutes over those final three quarters. If not for the dropped touchdowns, Watson getting picked in the endzone after one of those drops and the missed field goal, this is a double-digit win for a team that was down 17-3 after the first quarter.
Great win aside losing Tytus Howard for the season is devasting. Texans had bookend Tackles and it was beautiful to watch...for 6 games...sigh
Truth be told, Watson is just as good if not better than Mahomes. This is going to be the Brady vs. Manning rivalry for the next decade in the AFC.
Their adjustments at the line, to giving Watson plenty of options on 3rd and short (or 4th and short) has been really critical to not only mitigating the pass rush, but has single-handedly made them the best 3rd down converting team in the league. I don’t think these options were always there (or maybe they were, and Watson was just not seeing them?). Obviously, the league and defenses will adjust because that’s what this league does... till then, this offense (with Watson seeing everything) is going to be pretty unstoppable. Shame about Howard though. Line was just starting to gel.
