The only people scared will be Rockets fans as Westbrick continuiously shoots the teams out of the games that matter as he has done for the last three playoff series he has played in, and lost. Terrible playoff performer and a terrible fit.
I don't understand how someone so physically talented can be such an awful three point shooter. It's not like he hasn't had time to improve on that shot.
1. He can give the Rockets a new element on fast break, Both Harden and CP3 can't really do this anymore. 2. He is not a bad passer even though you will see some TO. 3. Also, the way how the Rockets play, he will see lots of space than in OKC and it fits for him to drive or even pull up for mid range occasionally like CP3 did.
The same point as Chris Paul was before he got too old. He will be able to give Harden a break from having to iso the whole game. Now we have two great players that we can watch alternate iso's every time down the court.
Come on @SamFisher he's just starting to heat up. Expecting at least 22% from 3 and a slew of ill timed midrange shots. What more do you want??
I love watching his one-man fast breaks. New team, 1st game back from surgery, give him some games to knock off the rust and get familiar with new teammates.
If he never shoots 3s, then the defense never have to guard him when he's off the ball. Then the Rockets are playing 4 vs 5 on offense. Its absolutely crucial that he hits open 3s at an acceptable(33% or above) rate.
I looked up his 3pt% when open (Closest Defender 4-6ft away) and wide open. I also calculated the combined % of both. His open 3% |Year|Open|Wide Open|Combined| 18-19 26.9% 32.6% 29.9% 17-18 27.9% 37.8% 31.1% 16-17 35.4% 37.7% 36.3% 15-16 32.4% 31.2% 31.8% 14-15 33.3% 35.9% 34.4% 13-14 29.5% 35.2% 32.5% Not looking good
It's far too early to start being so worried about Westbrook. You will have your question answered after a few months of watching our team get into the regular season groove. I for one am excited about him coming here. This season can't start soon enough for me.
Speed, Effort & Energy. Athleticism & Passion. Rebounding. We got younger and faster with Russ. I think that just about covers it.
he wont only take open 3s which is the problem. he keeps taking them off the dribble. also, no will guard him outside in the playoffs when he doesnt have the ball in his hands period.
