If that is their reaction it only means it was coming down the road sooner or later. Imagine Trump baning NBA games in USA for LeBron talking **** about him. That is what China is doing and they can go **** themselfs with their money because life is not only about it

Man, If you thought the NBA wasn't messing with the Rockets before, Now they really aren't messing with the Rockets. I can only imagine the conversations Silver and Morey had in private. If Morey is still the Rockets GM, the trade deadline going to be bleak as f-ck.

One day Morey will write a Book about it and it will outsell Tilman's trash azz book! Will be a Best Seller!

You'll have to explain that one to me …. He potentially cost the league billions of dollars.

There are no first amendment rights at play here.

I think Morey's one of the best GM's in professional sports but …. He'll be lucky to survive this.

I thought Morey was on the way out the door before this happened but now he basically has more incentive to stay.

    WIN WIN WIN

Waiting for Nike ad to feature Morey. But will it fit their narrative?

Orrrrr , the rockets become America’s patriotic team and the nba wants us to win, given that they aren’t making any money from China anymore haha

The Rockets are no longer China's team. We are now America's team.

Morey makes a few anti-Trump tweets that few people see and like and nobody gives a crap. Morey makes one tweet, but China being snowflakes decides to make it an international crisis. Bravo China you just played yourselves.

Oh well, Tump did call for boycott NFL after players kneeling during National anthem.

That tweet from Morey to Chinese government and a lot Chinese people is like a tweet with racial slur to US black people. Different culture, different perspective and different reaction by different people. No surprise here.

What really surprised me is as one of the smartest GMs in NBA Morey was so stupid to not consider the consequence before he tweeted.

I mean if you really think about it, he and Rockets may have lost support of China but they gained support from everyone else globally. He is like the only person to get the Republicans and Democrats to agree on something. We can thank China for throwing a hissy fit.

"they gained support from everyone else globally" ? LOL. Who else cares about this except NBA, NBA fans, Chinese people and Chinese government?
I see a lot people losing money, nobody gains.

Nah, it would be equivalent if Trump decided to use his presidential power to ban the NFL completely because of a slight.

Morey may have chosen a controversial position, but the Chinese government completely escalated this mess themselves because of one man's opinion that here in the US no one cared about until now. And now both sides are amped up. All because of one man's now deleted tweet.

    Trump would if he could.

It's not entirely on China. Think about this: After Donald Sterling's unauthorized private conversation was posted, he gets banned from NBA for life.

There are red lines you can't touch without consequences, some in US, some in China, some in other countries. Sterling touch the red line of US, Morey touched the red line of China.

The red line has been there for a long time, whoever touches it without thinking twice is the real cause of the controversy.
