Possibly they wouldn't win 2020. They might have a better chance than Trump to win. They definitely have a wider ceiling for their support than Trump has.

The Dem base is already charged up so they don't get the benefit. We saw it in 2018 - Dems showed up; GOPers didn't; moderates swung left. Anything that changes those dynamic is not helpful to Dems politically. Again, Pelosi is brilliant politically - she knew to avoid this at all costs if she could. She was forced into it, and now she will lean into it and make the best of it. And it is necessary. But it doesn't help Dems in any way in 2020.
Agree - this is strictly about 2020. 2022 will be all about Biden or Warren or whoever is President at the time.
When I read the "transcript" he released yesterday, first thought is... ah, this is why he released it. Show someone is praising him. He loves that so much he doesn't realize how damaging it is to him.
I think this is a common misconception. The GOP was energized already. They are NOT demoralized. Looks at the 2018 midterm - they, and everyone else showed up big. This is why I have been harping on ... don't freaking demoralize YOUR base. What can demoralize the GOP voters - a crook that got caught red handed. True... But Nixon was a slippery slope..... The articles were being written up and the Repubs went to him and gave him an option... Resign or be impeached and removed from office. So he resigned just as the articles were about to be introduce to the house.... So this is the reason some historians say that he was impeached.... T_Man

I didn't vote for him, but I have talked to others who have voted for him and I keep getting the same answer... It was either a con man or a very crooked woman. As I keep saying, it's not that most people loved Trump; it's that most people hated Hillary... This impeachment would have happened no matter which one would have won... T_Man
Possibly, it was a lousy selection - but it was obvious that it was anyone but Trump - as he has lied and cheated his entire life......not sure why ANYONE would believe anything he says......worst POTUS ever. But, if it helps fix out country by pointing stuff out - then it will have been worth it..... DD
