Geez. If the Astros were not shifting, this inning is over with I think probably no runs. The A's just keep beating the shift...which is certainly doable when you have a slower pitcher nibbling on the corners. Maybe a more traditional defensive arrangement is warranted for Miley.

But, man, something's just different, either with him or the batters facing him. This is ugly.

Do you trust Wade in the 1st inning?!?!?!? Time to look for another starter, he has tired arm, or most likely lost focused. He ain't a young man.

Miley shouldn't start again for the Astros this season. It's not really an over exaggeration, his last 3 starts are AA quality and the Astros have too many options to stay with him and cost this team wins when home field is in play.

How far away is Peacock? Who else do you think can be a starter?

How can a professional pitcher who’s been so solid for 5 months all of a sudden implode like that? Are they not catching something he is or isn’t doing when he’s practicing? It’s hard to fathom honestly.

    Last 2 starts: 1 out, 12 hits, 2 walks, 11 earned runs.

That’s not Cy Young material boys and girls...

Just sat down to watch the game and Miley fails to get out of the 1st inning for the second straight time? His stock is falling fast.

He'll be throwing off the mound this weekend, so they'll reevaluate then. As of now, why not give Sneed a chance, he literally can't be worse than Miley. With the enlarged roster some bullpen games might be in order as well.

This strikezone is tiny. Miley had a few strikes called as balls against him, and now Sneed's getting it. That's killer for pitchers that live on corners like Miley and Keuchel.

Maybe you don't play the extreme shift with a GB pitcher. ****ing infuriating.

Miley was out of that inning with about 12 pitches except for the ****ed up infield placement. Pissant hits right where a traditional fielder would be standing.

eta: oh ****ing yeah, and RRLR are the first 4 A's. Think they might take the ball to RF? ****.

Miley doesn’t look healthy, looks like a motivational trainer may be in store.
