*ex-girlfriend https://nypost.com/2019/09/03/brook...rucs-charged-in-alleged-assault-on-girlfriend Brooklyn Nets forward Rodions Kurucs allegedly assaulted his live-in girlfriend during a tense domestic dispute, prosecutors and police sources said Tuesday. The 21-year-old, Latvian-born hoopster answered a misdemeanor assault charge in an afternoon appearance in Brooklyn criminal court, in which he did not enter a plea before he was released without bail. Amid a heated June 27 argument with his 32-year-old girlfriend inside his Gowanus apartment, Kurucs grabbed a knife and threatened to kill himself, sources said. But the athlete — who towers at 6-foot-9 and 210 pounds — soon redirected his meltdown toward his partner, dropping the knife to allegedly grab her by the neck, throw her on the bed and slap her, sources said. The woman suffered a left rib injury when she fell off the bed during the dust-up and had to go to an area hospital, officials and sources said. She reported the alleged spat to police on Aug. 27, and Kurucs turned himself in at the 76th Precinct station house in Brooklyn early Tuesday. Kurucs, handcuffed and wearing a black hoodie and jeans, was slapped with an order of protection barring him from contacting the woman. He’s due back in court on Oct. 21 — just two days before the Nets open the 2019-2020 season with a home tilt against the Minnesota Timberwolves. “After learning of the allegations against Rodions Kurucs, we notified and are assisting the League Office as they begin the process of gathering more information,” said a Nets spokesman. “The Nets organization takes allegations of this nature with extreme seriousness. While the investigation is underway and as we continue to learn more, we will refrain from commenting further.” https://www.nydailynews.com/new-yor...0190903-hjenydziq5dtxd5qvhnwgv5yym-story.html A Brooklyn Nets player was arrested Tuesday for choking his girlfriend in his Brooklyn apartment during an argument that went out of control, police sources said. Rodions Kurucs, 21, was busted for attacking his then-girlfriend on June 27 just before 8 p.m. in his apartment on Bond St. near First St. in Carroll Gardens. Police sources said a verbal argument spiraled out of control. Kurucs allegedly screamed, “I am going to kill myself!” He allegedly put his hand around the woman’s throat and choked her, then forced her to march to his bed. The 6-foot-9, 210-pound forward allegedly pushed her on the bed, slapped her in the face twice, bit her lip and then picked her up and tossed her on the bed hard enough to hurt her ribs, the sources said. She also suffered bruising to her ribs and face, according to prosecutor Wilfredo Cotto during the arraignment. Cotto said there are no pictures of her injuries, and noted the then-couple went to Las Vegas the next day. He said the couple dated for nine months, but have since broken up. Also during the arraignment, Judge Gina Abadi issued an order of protection and told Kurucs to stay away from the woman. She ordered him released without bail, with no objection from prosecutors. A graphic on the top of his Twitter page reads, “Love is the answer.”
We need to purge the Euro trash from NBA. Destroying the American dream and image as well as NBA's integrity. First Brexit. Now Amexit.
Kurucs’ lawyer Alex Spiro noted there are no photos of the alleged assault, and that the woman didn’t report the incident for nearly two months. “As I understand it, self-reported injuries, judge,” said Spiro. He added the then-couple flew to Las Vegas together the day after the alleged assault. They had dated for nine months and broken up days before she filed a criminal complaint, Spiro said.
Went to Vegas together after the alleged assault. Reported after they broke up says it all. Golddigger?
Wait I thought the american born players were the troublemakers? Is Kurucs part of the "mixtape" culture Cuban mentioned?
I tried to find some other Latvian troublemaker, but only saw pictures of Iman Shumpert, Ty Lawson, Donkey, M Morris, and Kenneth Faried. They got a lot of current and former Rockets with traffic ticket! Pat Bev, Michael Beasley, Jordan Hill, PJ https://nbacrimelibrary.com/page/2/
Wonder why domestic violence is so prevalent in the NBA. I mean, if I was in the NBA, I imagine I'd be too concerned about ****ing the money up just to choke a b****. Amirite fellas?
Damn..if you go down the arrest list, almost every former Rockets have been in trouble with the law!! Charge: Driving under the influence Arrest Date: April 14, 2008 Franchise: Denver Nuggets Age 23 Details: Following a Nuggets loss, Anthony was pulled over by police after being seen weaving through traffic. Alston, Rafer Mar 1 Posted by nbacrimelibrary Charge: Assault with a deadly weapon Arrest Date: August 28, 2007 Franchise: Houston Rockets Age 31 Details: Alston was arrested for stabbing a man after a minor altercation at a Manhattan nightspot. Griffin, Eddie Mar 1 Posted by nbacrimelibrary Charge: Inattentive driving Arrest Date: March 30, 2006 Franchise: Minnesota Timberwolves Age 23 Details: The late Eddie Griffin received his fourth and final nba arrest in 2006, about a year and a half before his drunk-driving death. After crashing his SUV into a parked car he was charged only with inattentive driving. A few months later, however, a surveillance video surfaced of him professing his drunkenness following the crash. In addition, a lawsuit later was filed against Griffin alleging he was not only drunk but masturbating to a pornographic DVD while driving, causing the accident
You is right you is right. If I was in the NBA, I would do what Derek Jeter did: Record everything and flush the condom. You can get accussed of anything. Just tell them you have to record this and you need their consent and signed. Then make sure you flush the condom. Guys like Blake Griffin are paying $200,000 a month in child support because he forget to flush it down and the woman took the used condom and you get the rest of the picture! Being a NBA player is just a walking lawsuit and lot of child support
Honestly the American born players now are the best behaved and have the best self control when compared to prior generations of players.
The league is mostly American born players, so I'm not sure what posting guys mugshots does. It's just funny how uninterested fans are of non american players who beat their girlfriends & are accused of worse crimes. The outrage should be equal
Because we grew up in the hood and we can't relate to those Euro trash. We could all see how we can end up like Delonte West though and I see guys like Delonte West in the hood every day. I don't see Latvian everyday. LIke this guy, I can't relate to this Latvian legend from Golden State Warriors. This guys signed a Clint Capela like contract and immediately, suddenly, couldn't play basketball anymore! This guy is the original Royce White of scammer! https://deadspin.com/deadspin-nba-****-list-andris-biedrins-the-man-who-fo-5959931 "the Warriors spent their single draft pick on a big man, an unknown Latvian by the name of Andris Biedrins. Before he was investigated for tax evasion, before he was photographed enjoying what looked like a pretty good backseat , before he was leapfrogged in the depth chart by a man who was named for a Harry Potter spell,"
Eh, not everybody comes from the "hood" including myself. But yeah, kind of weird there is no answer for my question. Even with our own players. Dmo sucks & left here trashing the organization, yet the criticism he receives is about 1/4th of criticism Melo got after only 10 games. Foreign guys seem to get favorable treatment. Prozingis is accused of raping a woman while calling her a "slave", yet NOBODY'S interested in this anymore lol. It's weird
With DMO , we drafted him and he developed as a young player here . He finally learned to play pretty well and then got hurt . I don’t think he ever said anything bad about his teammates or coach etc ... most people blame his agent . Really his situation WAS unfortunate . He had a deal for like 20 million dollars and through our RFA powers we not only stopped him from being able to sign with that team AND caused his value to plummet Of course , he could have tried sticking around and building that value back up , but hey ..., he was prolly done for haha .
Um, he definitely had words for the organization https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cb...unas-criticizes-the-rockets-organization/amp/
