it's time to start worrying about osuna... he's thrown very few clean innings and routinely puts people on base and gets hard contact, literally the last things you want from your closer.
Osuna has blown 5 saves and while that isn’t terrible, it’s not that good. Hes made us nervous in quite a few others.
He has a WHIP of .89 He hadn’t given up a run in nearly two weeks. He isn’t Mariano Rivera but hasn’t been a gas can either. FWIW he didn’t seem as focused to me.
This is spot on, Hinch has already proved it and continues to say as much. In 2017 he had friggin Dallas and Justin warming up when Charlie is trying to close out game 7 on short rest. All hands on deck.
Nobody in contention in the AL or the Dodgers has a closer head and shoulders above Osuna when it comes to saves/blown saves. Osuna 5 blown saves in 36 attempts Aroldis Chapman- 5 blown saves in 41 attempts Emilio Pagan (Rays closer)- 8 blown saves in only 22 attempts Taylor Rogers- (Twins closer)- 6 blown saves in only 27 attempts Liam Hendricks (A's closer) 4 blown saves in only 20 attempts Brad Hand (Indians closer) 5 blowns saves in 37 attempts Kenley Jansen on the Dodgers has 6 blown saves in 33 attempts
Osuna is now sporting a 3+ ERA. Do better and don't suck again like last playoffs. Brantley's streak ends at 19. Still had professional ABs though. Stros have legit shot at best record, league and franchise. Also looking to become <5th team in MLB history with 3 consecutive 100-win seasons. Be healthy enough when it really matters.
