We don’t have to trade with Miami. Let’s see what happens. Anything better than a third is a win for the Texans if Clowney won’t resign at a reasonable price.
Tell his co-worker McClain that. "I believe the Texans have a trade (for Clowney) for a LT lined up and have for weeks." Yeah, like good LTs are readily available and teams are willingly gonna trade them.
McClain writes whatever the Texans tell him to. He might as well have a Team employee ID at this point. They aren't getting Tunsil, unless the Dolphins have completely lost their minds, Tunsil's hurt/pissed off at the Dolphins, or something similar. None of that I've read is the case. They should need a LT, despite Rod Johnson looking serviceable. Who has a can-start-now, and is competent, LT available? No one I see except one of the Eagles' spare tackles or give Washington the king's ransom they seem to want for Williams. (Nobody is untradeable.) Make up the cost by trading Clowney to a third team that will be able to pay him in 2020-21, is where he wants to go, and has assets the Texans want. Easy, right?
If this is normal for tagged D linemen, as you and @gucci888 indicate, then OK. On the bright side, it keeps him from getting injured. Even if he'll take a game or two of starting slow before he plays like J.D.
I don't not believe this guy. O'Brien has a huge ego. Simply wanting to trade him away for a third round pick should get him fired. I think his whole situation will continue to get out of hand as O'Brien continues to leak stuff to the media to try and get an upper hand (and fails), and I think his will be the beginning of the end for O'Brien. Cal can't be happy with this ish.
This sounds exactly accurate. Bill O'Brien has a malignant ego and it's getting in the way of the day to day functioning of the franchise. Isn't there a 25th amendment for this sort of crap? Invoke the Varsity Blues anti-Jon Voight rule dammit! JJ Watt and Deshaun as co-coaches, who says no???
If this is true, add it to the growing list of reasons Bill O’Brien needs to be fired on the spot. Trading a pro-bowl caliber defensive end you took number one overall for a third-round pick is one of the most idiotic things I’ve ever heard.
JD should come out with an interview to a friendly news reporter and say he wants to come back and be a Texan long-term. He's worried about getting traded if he signs his tender and wants nothing more than to be in the building with his team. Put the onus on McNair and BO'B to look like they're running him out of town.
Right or wrong, professional sports is a business - you hear it all the time. It really doesnt matter if we think BOB is a bafoon or JD is being a little B... the fact of the matter is IF the Texans think they are better without him on the roster, then they have every right to deal him. NONE of us know what has gone on behind close doors or can we pretend we know more than anyone in the organization (although some would disagree). I just want to get past this and see real football on the field. JD, Sign your tender, possibly get dealt, make millions and go play football. Let this end already.
