Therefore not worthy of being a major news story. High school boys say and do stupid stuff to get a reaction. It doesn't appear that they directed it towards anyone either.
Looks like typical high school boys... If you expect them to not be assholes then you have forgotten high school. lol
They should be punished for it and I can see if it is something serious reporting it and being a major story. For example if they did something to a student or there was a strong underground movement exposed. However, having a dozen athletes alone and screwing around and pretending to be Hitler and nazi's doesn't really constitute worthy of national news. I do like the approach taken to take them to a holocaust museum and let them see that their actions can have consequences.
I guess Nazi salutes are frequent at the typical high schools that typical Trump guys go to. I don't recall group Nazi salutes at my high school. I also work with high school students frequently nowadays and don't come across group Nazi salutes. Yeah, kids can be idiots (as adults can be). But for certain people, the idiocy tend to come out as Nazi salutes and their "mental illness" tend to end up in mass shootings of Latinos, Jews and African Americans.
Sure. If you want to go Minority Report .... feel free... but make sure you consider all of the consequences.
do they look like they are serious or joking? Yeah big deal. You act like you caught footage of a secret nazi rally. lol Get a life man.
Keep batting that straw man. Look, the kids should be punished and sending them to speak to leaders of a holocaust museum would be beneficial. However there is no evidence of some secret Nazi society, there doesn't appear to be evidence of any actions of any sort other than a bunch of idiots in private being insensitive assholes. I don't even see where anyone present was offended. If at Prom the dean of students found a group of kids that were drunk and intended to drive home, would that be worthy of a major news story? Would punishing the students involved been sufficient?
We live in a big brother world where we fear Big Brother and our neighbors while handing out the harshest judgements. Someone hold me in a totally platonic, socially acceptable, and space safe way.
My new high schooler got a little dose of white nationalism at the first event of the new school year. Great first impression.
If nothing was done about it, absolutely. The reason these stories are more stories than you like to make out, is because often nothing is done about it. In fact, your initial response was indicative of perhaps no big deal, no need to do anything about it. Now, you are advocate they talk to leaders of a holocaust museum. Is that the right action? Is that enough action? I don't know.
