Oh, there were plenty that thought BLM were equivalent to the KKK and that Obama saying "Trayvon could be my son" was racist hate speech but Trump calling Mexican immigrants rapists invaders somehow isn't.
Confused as to how a white guy shooting up a walmart to kill as many Mexicans as possible is anything but white supremacy.
Why does the left continue to trot out this outright lie??? This is what Trump said: https://www.realclearpolitics.com/a...neo-nazis_fine_people_heres_proof_139815.html
There were people there to protest taking down the Lee statue who were not neo-Nazis or White Supremacist and also there were others there to support taking down the statue who were not Antifa. It is those two groups he was speaking about. The neo-Nazi / White Nationalist and Antifa were all scumbags and he called them out. If you just refuse to accept reality I do not know what to tell you.
The people who were there forssaving the statue didn't leave or try to stop the anri-Jewish chants. They continued to march.
If most voters actually vote for there own self interest and their families interest they would not vote for Trump. i agree that continuing to harp on Trump as a racist is not especially productive but there are people who that resonates with just like the illegal immigrants stuff resonates with some republicans.
SMDH, so you expected them to take on the nazi / white nationalist idiots there stirring up trouble? Should they have put on mask and started acting like the Antifa idiots also there stirring up trouble? They were not taking part in the stupidity rather they were simply expressing their rights to peacefully protest something they disagreed with. I do not blame them one bit for not getting in the middle of the idiots there stirring up trouble.
I think that box has already been checked with those people who are motivated to vote against Trump's racism. I think if racism is going to be an issue then the focus should be on steps to improve race relations and reduce racism. That might slightly enlarge the voting group because they will see it as progress and a way to move on to other issues.
Yes. Very fine people would take a stand. If not that, they should leave and not associate with the neo-Nazis. That might still allow them to be classified as 'very fine people'. Doing nothing and continuing to march does not allow them to be qualified as 'very fine people'
And I discussed this with you multiple times and you ignore it every time so I'll give it a shot again against my better judgement. First, protesting to keep a statue of a confederate war general is not something to be proud of. The right wing has a very brainwashed view of Robert E Lee as some sort of reluctant slave owner which is far from reality. Second, which is the more prevalent point, Charlottesville requires a permit for protests at the town square. The group that filed for the permit and are the main organizers of the entire protest are SELF-LABELED white nationalists. They were the group chanting "Jews will not replace us". They are literally the organizers of the entire protest. So now let's imagine a group that supports ISIS organized a protest at a town square. They were the ones who filed the permit. They were the organizing leaders. Let's say the protest was over the mistreatment of a Muslim prisoner of war at Gitmo. So the actual intent of the protest isn't evil at face value but the organizers again are self-labeled ISIS supporters. Now honestly ask yourself this question. Would you call anyone who protests along with self-labeled ISIS supporters ISIS sympathizers? Would you call anyone on that side of the protest "good people"? If you find yourself marching along with neo-nazis maybe some self reflection would do wonders to why you find yourself marching along with self-labeled white nationalists especially when your "protest" is over being butthurt that a statue of a confederate war general might be removed which puts into question by itself why the **** does someone need to worship Robert ****ing E Lee?
Have you considered that black people don't much appreciate Confederate monuments? Your party talks about divisive language and how liberals are so divisive, nothing is more divisive than fighting to keep monuments that represent slavery and the oppression of a people and telling them to just get over it. When I see confederate monuments and symbols around the country my initial thought is "I'm not welcome in this area and I should be careful." Why fight to keep this? You want a post-racial America I presume then why are we fighting to hang on to a racist past?
I think it's funny how some mistake-in-chief supporters accuse folks of having TDS. Well, maybe they should rethink this epithet...
I agree those people have made up their minds and I don't particularly like using racism as a focal point. But it does energize certain voters like Trump does with the immigration talk. I think this is a particular flashpoint and will be background noise as the election approaches. I hope.
Again, they have to convince themselves that the person that supported, voted for, defend, and will vote for again in 2020 is not a racist. Otherwise it looks bad on them.
Its just interested as Trump has publicly said he doesn't support hate groups like the KKK, Aryan Nation, Neo Nazi's over and over and over again. The republican congressional shooter in Washington DC in 2017 was a Bernie Sanders volunteer. Bernie said that's terrible and we understood and believed him. Just as if someone went into a bank or insurance company and started shooting I wouldn't blame Elizabeth Warren or Bernie Sanders. But let's just see this for what it is. A big nothingburger by people that don't have ideas America wants. The Russian collusion FAILED and now let's brand him a racist!! Sad. The democrats should come up with ideas American's actually want and then let them decide. Trump to me is an anti-war (less of a hawk than Hillary), socially liberal (much more than Repubs), free market (reducing govt. exposure in business) candidate which are the points that I'm supportive of. While i'm not a fan of trade wars, I do think other countries have taken advantage of our bureaucrats for far too long and hope the outcome is more fair trade deals while tariffs really help no one in the short run.
