Nice to finally have them on streaming for those times when Undertow out of nowhere demands to be played.
Any other real Tool fans notice that at around the 4:27 mark they threw the drums and riffs for Reflection in? So much to take in. I'm on the 5th listen and it just gets better every time. Already have this preordered and will not stream in the car. Need the real sound. Not the muffled Spotify nastiness.
****ing love tool. Everybody has been blowing up my phone about this. Apparently they will be streaming stuff now? Just added all their songs to my Spotify
The adam jones tone is unmistakable. Solo and ending riff super super similar to another tool song I can't name off the top of my head. I'm pretty sure lateralus
Justin Chancellor is pretty much one of the most underrated bassist ever. As soon as I hear him playing I get chills.
finally can stream their whole catalog! just saw a perfect circle over halloween weekend. wasn't expecting a new album this year
Hmm, it was on Amazon music for me (old albums) but not the new pre-release single (unless you subscribe to music unlimited)
I am optimistic, just been a long hiatus. Thankfully this is not looking like a Chinese Democracy (GNR) type situation so far. I think it's interesting with all the bands of the 90s lining up these releases of new albums Slipknot/Tool/Korn over the next 4-5 weeks , note, I'm not lumping the Tool Fan elitests (that hate on other bands, so def not trying to incite rage), just stating it's good for everyone since all 3 seem to be doing well. I typically prefer artists from the 70-90s and then new releases by those artists since, having a harder time with 2000s+ for new artists. So new Tool is something I'm excited about, I like Maynard's side music projects but prefer Tool the most out of his music. I'm hoping to see Tool on their next tour. ... So looking forward to everything.
They’re all cream of the crop. Danny is a beast on the drums. Maynard is talented but I don’t think he carries the group at all
Sound mixing and production is great. Song though really is missing... well an actual song. Tool are one of those groups who can make a meh song sound great. This is one they should have scrapped. Although I applaud them still being up for pumping out music if they are still passionate about it. I’ll look forward to listening to the entire album and maybe this one will fit a bit better in context. As a stand-alone it just doesn’t have an actual song here. Just a bunch of Tool bridges all lumped together without direction or an emotional pull. Also the vocal changes about halfway through just weren’t for me. Not sure what they were going for there. F it though... it’s new tool. I thought they were done.
Good song. Didn't blow my socks off but I enjoyed it. I absolutely loved Invincible though. Can't wait to hear the studio version.
