He's quite possibly the greatest DH of all time. And we are only just getting started. I am willing to put him ahead of Chili Davis, Brian Downing, and Travis Hafner which puts him right behind Paul Molitor at this point and near the top 5.

I dont pretend to know how his career will end up, but I do know he has already given us plenty of oh my god moments.

He was also the main topic of MLB morning discussions on MLB network radio this morning, overshadowing Grienke and his debut. I'm just enjoying this.

Potential to be the all-time Astros Home Run and RBI leader.

More extra base hits than singles by my count.

Alvarez went opposite field with power quite a bit in the upper minors.

So there are areas where Alvarez can still improve at the big league level.

Alvarez has the potential to hit .338 with 14 Hrs, 14 2B, 43 RBIs, in 42 games.

Sadly, I do not. I was listening on my way into work. It was Eduardo Perez, and Steve Phillips. The lead off spot. Went on for 30 minutes about the Astros. They might have it on replay on the web.

You know you're good when a 2 RBI game with a homerun brings down your averages.

Maybe if he shouts at the clouds loud enough they'll get angry and we can get some rain.

And Yordan is an amazing player.

Was sitting in 122 last night... that Yordanger in the 2nd inning was a mash. Of everyone currently in the line-up, I get most excited when Yordan comes up to the plate. The dude mashes.

Geez, I don't follow Lucas on twitter but just reading through his tweets he is a bit of a grouch, no?? I never had a conversation with the guy, but when I used to work at the ballpark whenever I'd see him around he came off a bit jerky.

He might be David Ortiz. My hope is that he can sustain a ridiculous offensive profile that is good enough not just to justify him as a middle of the order hitter, but to justify him as such a good hitter than a different bottom of the order guy can be a non factor. What I mean is: if he is just a really good hitter (~125 wRC+), he’s a borderline star player and a middle of the order bat. But if he is crazy good (150 wRC+), he balances a league average bat the same as 2 star level hitters. That’s super valuable as this team starts to deal with financial constraints.

No way. You’re crazy! Be a little bit more realistic. Homers always overrating our players. That’s hall of fame level numbers weirdo.
