Anyone else's portfolio feeling some pain today that's due to trump's insane attempt to destroy the American economy he keeps bragging about? Mr trump is certifiably unbalanced. He's beset with dementia, or worse, and there are obviously those close to him, whispering in his ear, that wish to bring down the United States. Meanwhile, China will simply wait him out. Why should they "bend to his will" when the creature is acting like a lunatic, increasingly unstable, and almost certain, as this rate, to be defeated in 2020?

Xi is now supreme leader for life, and doesn't have to worry about an election, but he knows Trump does. What do you think he's going to do to use the election for leverage? You can love Trump for a bunch of reasons if you want, but I think we all should be able to admit now that "got it alone" trade wars with a mega power like China wont work out for the US. Especially when the US consumes over half a trillion a year from China. That's a huge part of our economy that they have us by the balls with. I get that people didn't care for TPP, but a trade deal has to be done with more than just Japan (some days) on our side.

The Chinese government does suck. They are the largest threat to basic human rights in the world. However, what Trump is doing isn't harming China at all......... and his willingness to back down to China over Hong Kong is atrocious.
China is playing the long game while the US is gambling short term. China has had this plan ready for the last decade. That’s why they shifted their production towards high tech and away from cheap goods. They know they can still market to the rest of the word without the US and and still have US customers willing to pay slightly higher prices for goods. They are winning because their economy moves with the government and ours doesn’t. Look at our stock market. This is losing
