Shame, he really showed some nice flashes his rookie year. Running backs have very little room for even a small amount of agility loss.
Absolute power corrupts absolutely... So who is there to check BO'B when a player falls out of favor for whatever reason and teapot wants him gone (maybe even to the detriment of the team a la wanting to cut Mallett for missing the flight before a game and leaving you with no backup QB)?
“Bill O’Brien says he has high expectations for Foreman.” - Chronicle 7/27 “Texans cut Foreman.” - Chronicle 8/3 Yeah that sounds like the Texans
The more I think about the Foreman cut, the more I get mad about how horribly inept the Texans organization is. Foreman's work ethic and behavior couldn't have just became a question. And heck, he blew out his Achilles last year. And yet, the team did nothing to bolster RB position, even though Miller has been at best question mark since arriving. So with no real candidate, they are forces to talk up undrafted crapshoots, mediocre veterans,. or unrealistic last minute alternatives like trading for Gordon, Peterson, etc. Duke Johnson is the most attractive and realistic option, but CLE is playing hardball and I am sure their front office sees how inept HOU is and their price tag just went up even higher.
Can’t teach (or more importantly, fix) players' work ethic. HOU knew this was an issue last year, and probably knew it was an issue when we drafted Foreman. Like clockwork, HOU did nothing to shore up the issue. Better hope Howell and co. ball out...shame we didn’t address it with our gazzilion dollars worth of cap space or draft picks. We're like the plot if a "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" episode. Glaring, known problem, yet we never do anything to fix it. Borderline comical at this point. Certainly comical when you compare it to Luhnow or Morey.
That’s it...I’m out. **** this team. Ridiculous. This team had been poorly run since it’s inception and instead of getting better, it finds a way to get even worse.
Can’t say I’m surprised. Foreman looked done last season. After the Achilles injury, he lost all of his athleticism.
He's attempting to come back from from a career ending/changing injuring from most RBs. They gave him a chance but it did not work out.
I wouldn't count on it. Trent Williams should be the preferred target. But I don't expect that, either.
And has been struggling in pass coverage. If you cant protect our franchise QB, that's a big deal. For those who are making this out to be the last straw, Donta freaking Foreman, don't let the door hit you on the way out. smh Im not saying the Texans are the best run/smartest organization but they definitely know more than any of us
I was rooting for Foreman, but I'm glad they cut him if he wasn't able to do what they asked. This could be good for Foreman also. Maybe he will get picked up by someone and he will really do what is needed to make an NFL roster.
