That explains a lot about SuperNatural. I was so into that show but stopped right around season 6ish-7ish. Have yet to finish all of it.
Finished the series yesterday. Did not see that cliffhanger for the series finale coming. Whoever said it seems like the Watchmen meets the Tick had it pretty spot on.
Surprisingly my wife is hooked on this show and can't wait to finish S1. She's generally not a person who likes anything with gore but the dark humor appeals to her. We're 3 episodes in.
Saw the trailer and thought Karl Urban, I'm in. Didn't even register that it's mother***en Sheriff Lucas Hood as Overlander. Two episodes in, really enjoying it. Spoiler Could not stop laughing in the first episode when the girl meets The Deep and says she had a childhood crush on him, turns around and he's jerking it. The way he says "what" like nothing is wrong killed me.
It took me until episode 2 to figure out who HomeLander was. I was like...I know this guy...where is he from?? Just nagged me to death.
I can't wait for S2. It can go in so many ways. Spoiler 1) What happens to the corporate angle. 2) Does Homelander go beserk or does he become more mild with his new discovery 3) Lucy, you got some splaining to do 4) Coverup of THE death 5) Does the gov't turn away from the fugitives and start targeting supers or do they still need them to fight the terrorists 6) Does it become all out humans vs supers?
Great show that was very well done. Btw, stay out of comments sections of review videos. Just had a major plot point spoiled by some ******* in the comments section of youtube.
Man, outside of the kids and life, this show is all my wife will talk about. Really hit the mark for her. Again, surprised that she digs it. It's not nearly as dark as the comic and through five episodes has deviated from the comic somewhat but stayed on the general plot-line. The guy who plays Homelander deserves an Emmy. He is straight-up amazing in his role.
Really enjoyable show. Gruesome mixed with extremely funny in parts. Spoiler Seeing people comment about a twist, I thought they were referring to Starlight helping in the end, which I could see coming. Wasn't expecting Homelander bringing Butcher to his wife at the conclusion whatsoever. Felt something was brewing when the stories weren't straight, but not this. Not I can't stop thinking about it. I'm half expecting Homelander to turn around and slice Butcher in half on the front lawn when Season 2 kicks off. How can you go back to someone who was your partner, who willingly ploughed someone else, and raising their kid for the past 8 years.
The whole theme of the comic is that everyone crazy due to bizarre circumstances, the twist ending just makes BB more crazy.
Wrapped this show up Friday night. Homelander is the true star of this show. Emmy worthy turn from the actor. It strays pretty far from the comic but I'm cool with it since the outcome was so damn good. A+. Came out of nowhere and is 2019's best show. Can't wait for Season 2.
Also gotta say that it never gets old when other comic properties beat Warmer/DC to the punch. We had a small taste of 'Evil Superman' in the Batman v Superman movie but they just can't get their act together to bring the Injustice story-line to TV or Movies. Then we get The Boys with....Evil superman, The Homelander. I think the only thing Warner has beaten their competitors to is 'Super Ocean Guy' Aquaman (other fish guys like Namor). Sure, the 'Super Woman' Wonder Woman movie was a hit, but it didn't stop Captain Marvel from being a hit too.
Couldn’t agree more on the actor who played Homelander - one of the better performances from an actor that I’ve seen recently. Kept getting a Bradley Cooper vibe.
