Did you ever see that ESPN mini docu he did a couple years ago? I know players will never come out and directly say these moves are about money, but Harden's view of what happened completely flies in the face of how you're spinning it.

Harden didn’t pick money. He requested more time to think about it and was asking for a trade kicker. OKC had him under contract for a full year but wouldn’t give him more than a day, and traded him. Harden didn’t want to leave.

There really needs a 30 for 30 on that sequence of events. If both parties accepted that Harden for Beal trade, who knows what could have happened?

It really would've depended on who the Rockets picked up after Butler to replace Gordon and Capela. Having to lose Gordon and Capela to get Butler seemed like too much, but it was fun to be in the hunt. And maybe, in the end, that's what Morey wants to give us - a little excitement for a few weeks every summer. We, the fans, don't get the NBA contracts or rings, but we get excitement and joy out of this. Morey provides entertainment every June and the first week in July. Thanks, DM. Much love.

Then you would have loved if Kawhi or KD had Houston on his list.....even just a little meeting for a little tease.

It would've been a fun couple of weeks. Like when you go to a casino or even just buy a lottery ticket when it's like $800,000,000 or whatever. There's this tiny moment of excitement that the jackpot is possible. That's what Daryl gives us all. Going forward it might be best to enjoy the excitement leading up to signing day and then figure out a way to completely shut out all NBA news until the fall. You'll then have many weeks of joyous anticipation before you see the roster in October.

Rockets confident they'll get a meeting with Jimmy
Rockets believe they're "firmly" in the lead for Jimmy
Rockets confident Sixers will do sign & trade
Rockets have deals lined up to move Capela & Gordon when JImmy says yes

all those threads need to go...any evidence of CF Jimmy Butler talk needs to get scrubbed off the Internet

Rockets had the nerve to get my hopes up acting so confident when in actuality they weren’t even close...smh, destroy all these Jimmy Butler threads ASAP

That's his right. Also: screw Jimmy Butler. Now he will only get his ass whooped by Houston twice a year instead of 8 times.

Jimmy Butler is a b****. He deserves to retire to Florida because his NBA career is already ready for the Old Folks home. He ain't winning **** in Miami. He didn't want pressure.....

Well, good for him. At least he knows his discipline level. Dude has the talent to be great, but instead chose the route to make comfortable money without a lot of pressure. And Miami knows how easy it will be to trade his ass when they get something better.

We woulda had both. None of the same assets were rumored in the Butler trade.

that's assuming tilman would pay the tax. most likely he wouldn't.

russ, harden, butler, tucker, and the remaining roster spots filled with minimum contracts would still be over the tax line. if we tried to have both under the cap we would have had to trade tucker for less salary.

most likely is if we acquired jimmy using gordon/capela/pick then we would have used 2 more picks to move paul for less salary and stay under the cap.
