It better be an NG contract because Tilman don't cut people, he trades them with assets.

Give him a Training camp deal and let him earn a spot on the roster

He's not going to say yes to that lol.
    Some realism would be appreciated.
It's fine we can cut him if he ain't sh*t.

There will be plenty of teams offering the minimum.

This is a severely misleading statement. Ariza’s contract with Phoenix was a massive overpay. Good for Ariza, but let’s not matching that offer was wise.

Is this guy washed up or what? Havent seen him play in the last year. We need shooters so sounds like a great minimum signing to me.

They are both worth minimum deals. Hard to see where minutes would come from but hard to find a better shooter for the minimum than JR

did we get anything for him? so, we let him walk.

and was his contact really that bad? would overpaying him for 1 year hamper Morey's ability to build a strong team? no. so don't worry about tilman's money. he could've paid tax last year to keep ariza on a 1 year overpay.

we were only 4 games out of the 1st seed. you don't think ariza would've helped us win 4 more games? dude is an ironman and we were playing harden with 4 rec center guys for a month. yes, we could've finished first and would've faced a depleted warriors squad in the WCF instead of a full strength team in the second round. the difference between overpaying ariza for 1 year and saving tilman money was actually a trip to the finals and maybe a championship.

I would say believing that a one year overpay is a terrible deal is severely misleading. on a multi-year deal, yes its handicapping our cap. on 1 year? coming off 65 wins and moments away from the finals/championship, you bring him back for 1 year and pay the tax.

There would definitely be a minutes crunch. Especially House develops into a 3/4 starter and if McLemore showed enough to earn minutes.

    Westbrook/Rivers
    Harden/Gordon/Shumpert
    House/JR/McLemore/Green
    PJ/Bennett/Clark
    Capela/Chandler/Hartenstein

That’s a lot of shooters and a pretty deep bench. I wonder who they would cut for Iggy, Mclemore?

While I don't agree with you entirely, i really appreciate your well thought out response.

When i get some more time, i'll try to remember to circle back to this for a longer retort.

I look forward to hearing a well thought out opposing view, although I probably will not change my mind on this issue.
