I've been #vandwelling since the end of April in far NW suburbs of Austin. I have a full time remote work day job and I teach yoga in the evenings... but I've taken a hiatus from teaching so I can hit the road for a couple months starting Aug 15 needing to return to Austin by Oct 13.

Last summer I did 9 days wandering in just Colorado and 2 months ago I spend 11 days wandering to the Florida Keys and back... both great trips.

I need cell phone connectivity during the week is the only necessity. I have to be able to connect to our corporate wifi. .

Where would you go? What be the "don't miss" things to see/do?

Start by going West - Big Bend National Park and then through Arizona and into Southern Cali. Those three areas by itself could be two full months.

I considered this... and I have a friends in flagstaff and San Diego I could see along the way. I was thinking gaining some elevation to escape the August heat might be nice.

We did a 2.5 week road trip through Tuscon, Phoenix, SD, LA, Monterry, SF and Kings Canyon/Sequoia earlier this summer.

I'd recommend any of those places... though I'm not a big fan or fan at all of LA. Everytime I think about the NBA's fascination with LA I just shake my head. You truly have to be loaded to reap any of the benefits of living in LA... which obviously NBA superstars are, but still.

Personally, I prefer Monterrey the best, but now that I've said that you know a lot more about me, lol. I'm probably older, and not exciting person anymore (if I ever was). San Diego is fantastic, though. Even this time of year the weather starts in the mid 60's and peaks in the high 70s or very low 80s. Its perfect.

The internet connectivity requirement pretty much eliminates all my suggestions. Every place I would go for 2 months has spotty cell phone service. Driving up the west coast would be fun though.

Why not try sky to land to sea, You could do most of that out west and wander the world vertically... so that you see the country from places where the lowest creatures on the earth rub their bellies to the rock all the way to the heights where the eagle will soar. And understand where you fit in, the foggy middle. That sounds like California coast. Skydive and balloon, hike and drive, sail, and then deep sea dive.

    Jealous!

Yosemite is great, but Yellowstone is better, IMO.

I did 2 weeks up the California coast and around the national parks and wine country a few years ago and it was awesome. I would love to explore Montana and I bet this is the best time to be there.

Yellowstone, Montana, Washington and down the Pacific coast to San Diego. Add must-see Grand Canyon if you can. That might be too much even for 2 months though. Would be amazing.

Montana, NWest Wyoming, and northern Idaho, with good boots and a pack.

OP, this would be the best 2 months of your miserable stinking life.

I have a good friend with average in Flagstaff. He’s been on me to come out so this may be part of the trip. I did the nor cal coast in 99 and have been wanting to go back ever since. Thanks for the link. Not sure how I never came across it before.

Only as a first stop to find the stripper with the best stuff who is down for a road trip... even then I think i’d prefer the men’s club.
