It seems increasingly evident that the USA is headed toward some type of civil war, or cold civil war, as some commenters call it. There’s a growing number of vids about this on YT; some links are below for those that are interested. Many commentators state that we are already in a “low intensity conflict,” and we have indeed seen violence in Berkeley, Charlottesville, and Portland, you could add other places. If you want to throw the BLM stuff in, you can add Dallas and other spots as well. The commenters state that in any war, most people actually are not fighting; it’s always a very small portion of the populace. So the fact that most people are not fighting does not mean that there is not a “war” going on. We do see sporadic violence; and we are also seeing an “info war”; as well as “news as propaganda”; and increasingly heated debate over “the narrative.” All of this is characteristic of a hot or cold war. How will this play out over the coming years? You will see some different opinions in the links, but it is likely to be de jure or de facto political separation. Now, some might scoff at a renewed attempt at official “secession,” but what do we see around the world? The answer is “Balkanization.” When peoples increasingly do not share the same values and belief systems, violence usually breaks out; and the only solution in the long run is political separation. Of course, we have seen this all over Europe and the former Soviet Union, after 1991. But, it might not be an official separation. It could be more “de facto” political separation. Ironically, the Muslims are showing the way on this, with their “no-go” zones, where the laws and police actions are determined very locally, not on some larger state or national level. In America, you can also see this, to varying levels, with the Amish, the Mormons, and Native Americans. And, it’s not so impossible to stand up to the national or state government – but you have to be part of a very tight knit community with numbers at least in the thousands; and you need to be well armed. The Ted Bundy ranch case in Utah could be cited, where armed locals forced the feds to back down. Or, look at the recent example of the Oregon state senator, who defied the governor, and said that “you might want to send young male police officers who don’t have families” to come and get him – and the state government backed down. Given a large enough tight knit community, it is possible, perhaps even likely, that the government will back down. Some interesting videos on the topic: Heritage Foundation Interesting point on the Heritage Foundation video; one of the speakers notes that conservatives have just sat back and done nothing while the left has taken over the news media, film and movies, schools and academia. A big part of the Trump phenomenon is conservatives of all stripes finally waking up to the fact that they have been losing the culture war; and finally deciding to do something about it. This panel is well worth watching; and it includes some comparisons to the situation that confronted Lincoln as president. And, we should always note the large sweep of history. It is pointed out somewhere in the videos that most empires last about 200-300 years, including Rome, the Ottoman Empire, the Assyrian Empire, perhaps even the British Empire, in a sense. When Empires reach that age, their internal frictions and dissentions start to lead to their eventual dissolution. If you place the start of the USA in 1776 (Declaration of Independence), we are 243 years old.
"Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand."
Sadly the only thing I see that would reunite the country is a 9/11 or any serious domestic type terrorism situation. But I doubt what you post comes to fruition, that's pretty ridiculous. Maybe if a certain person in the White House would take election interference along with his associate, the head of the Senate, we could come together for a common cause.
Four layers of law enforcement in every state, each armed, financed, compensated and cinematically propagandized better than half of NATO or any non-aligned country, and about a third of the population consisting of marginalized groups whose rights and suffrage all come from federal case law and legislature, there is no coming civil war.
White people have to recognize that they aren't both the majority in number and power anymore. As a demographic, white people will still have most of the wealth, status, and privileged leadership jobs, though that's going to skew more towards older demographics. The "crisis" here could be considered generational, but because race is a more useful wedge than class/status, Conservatives prefer messaging how power or wealth is being redistributed "elsewhere" while old boomers are liquidating American industry through trillion dollar retirement funds. In some midwest states Trump won, those states actually did well during the Obama era, but their voters felt guilty and terrified of horror stories "their neighbors had". This worry, that your children won't be as successful as you are, is a fairly complex issue, but ofc it's now simplified and packaged for cable news convenience. If there is a virtual war (through FB likes and emojies), boy oh boy will there be yuge ratings... For people wondering why race matters... the GOP has catered to old nationalist thoughts Americans saw during early 20th century that people like Henry Ford, C. Lindberg and W. Wilson promoted. They've naturally become a "minority" party that relies on rules and procedures to secure the most power through rural, low density states. In larger coastal states, Conservatism still exists, though it's less likely to be tainted of racial vitriol or talks of intra-city "in-fighting" (aka WAR). So it's not really a "war". Just a power grab among factions that has always existed but is now more blatant and shameless.
Another fantasy thread. Anyone trying to have a serious discussion with the OP is just as nutty as he is.
Oldest strategy in the history of man kind... divide and conquer. This is a fantasy topic for the folks who really want this to happen because they think it benefits them and their god king emperor tiny hands. Just more proof Trump and his cult lust for an autocracy and hate real Democracy. OP is out of his damn mind, and we shouldn’t take the bait to follow him down to fantasy island.
Wouldn't surprise me. We are dealing with some real dumb folks here and a systematic campaign to misled them by tugging at their racist heartstrings.
I think what you are saying here is that the law enforcement establishment is too well armed (?) There's any number of possible responses to that. Most notable are the ones I referenced, where groups of tight-knit and well armed communities stand up to the government. Yes, the LE establishment could "go nuclear" so to speak, but at what political cost? If LEs start mowing down/arresting thousands (or even hundreds) of people, how do you think that politics is going to play out? Is the larger community going to side with the government? At what point does it become like 1917 in Russia, where the soldiers start to sympathize with locals more than they do with their military leaders? Another example could be seen in New Orleans post-Katrina. It's my understanding that the governor tried to use the event as an excuse for weapons confiscation, and many police refused to carry out the order; and many resigned.
It could play out this way. That is -- nothing "really dramatic" happens; but rather, you get sort of a "white flight" by the producing classes to states where their talents are appreciated, and they can live the way they want; and largely free from intrusion of popular culture and the police/confiscatory state. This is already happening, to an extent.
Did you miss the part where I said I wasn't recommending anything; and that this could play out in a number of possible scenarios? Some more dramatic than others? We already see people leaving "progressive" states to live elsewhere. IMO, you can't watch those videos with an objective mind, and then say that none of it has any merit.
Glad to see that others are seeing what I'm seeing. And I know we've disagreed on some things. Nor are you or I advocating anything here (I think); just relating what we see, and the trends now and in the future.
