I just started reading the comics and boom, here comes this show. Watched EP 1, enjoyed it. In the comic the humiliation of Starlight is much worse but I can see them balking at it with the #metoo society we live in now.
Just got finished with season one, thought was an interesting take on the super hero genre. I liked it, ready to see where it goes.
Stranger Things, The failed Marco Polo, Sense8 and The Get Down, Narcos, The Crown, House of Cards. Netflix spends the money too. Nobody watches some of this stuff, but the money is spent.
Out of all those I havent seen sense8, the get down, the crown. I dont see the hype in stranger things and finished the first season cause I thought there was gonna be something amazing the way people were talking about. I was wrong. Never watched the other seasons. Marco Polo was a filler series I watched, wasnt disappointed by it, but also didnt think it was that good. Narcos I started and never finished. House of cards was truly a great show before the whole Spacey fiasco. So thats one good show imo from them. Ive been soured by the countless number of crap shows they bombard you with. Netflix sucks breh. Master of none was also a good show but that was more to do with Aziz than netflix
Not sure anybody cares, but the main actor kid is Meg Ryan's and Dennis Quaid's kid. There were like three or four times when he smiled just right and I thought I was looking at Dennis Quaid so I ran off to IMDB to confirm my suspicions.
Honestly don't get the fascination with the gross soft core p*rn mixed in with antiheroes. Watched a few episodes because of the way Amazon was aggressively advertising but definitely not for me.
Single most cringey moment in the Series. But I think it is suppose to be an allusion to rape, Date Rape and rapey behaviors Rocket River
Also him getting a taste of his own medicine for what he did to starlight. Those gills are going to haunt my dreams though. I’m glad I wasn’t eating when that scene came on.
Took me awhile to figure out where I've seen the actor who played homelander was from. He was great in this series. Karl Urban was great. A-train sucks. I wanted to see a wider variety of powered humans being bad. I thought it would be a bigger issue but its a more focused problem it seems.
I really liked the show, including the twist ending of the first season. I did not read the comic series, so it was new to me. Spoiler I did regret they killed off the Elizabeth Shue character. I understand how it advanced the story, but I thought she was a great character.
It's been a long time I binged watched an entire season in less than 24 hours. I took an intermission and powered through. I like it when they use a majority of not well known actors. It adds to the tension that anyone can bite it. I didn't read the comics and I probably won't just so I can be surprised.
