The French tax sounds perfectly appropriate to me -- a tax on revenues from French customers. Currently, internet companies will set a European hq in a low-tax country to minimize their income tax, and then they pay almost no tax in the other EU countries. Tax codes in general have been gravitating toward taxing where the customer is because of the problems of taxing at a company location when so many transactions are international. US states are doing the same thing. Now, a reciprocal tax on the American revenues of french digital companies sounds fine. We're already collecting sales taxes on french wines sold in the US, and import taxes as well. If he wants to tax them more, well I wonder how the wine market would react. Outside of grocery store wine, I don't know how price sensitive wine drinkers really are.
How would you like to be an American living in the mostly black district represented by an African American congressman and see your district attacked like this...
Another log on the racist bonfire. What an a-hole. @cml750 and all the other evangelicals are still figuring out what to do about the Traitor in Chief.
Just before his daily trip to the golf course, trump watched fox & friends to get his morning briefing... in this case, his racist morning briefing... fox news executives should speak out against this or forever get associated with causing these offensive public statements...
ahhhhahaha love it. This is a clear troll on several levels. You're falling for it if you give this anymore thought than a good laugh. He wants people to bicker about how he doesn't drink. And french wine is obviously better... this is like the time he tweeted hamburgers at that dinner to piss people off or put ketchup on his aged steak.
Masterful trolling. Honestly hope this is more of an anomaly, but I'm a little scared that this might become the norm of american politics.
I would call it unconstrained pathological behavior via tweet, rather than “masterful trolling,” but regardless of what one calls it, our country will be spending many years repairing the damage caused by trump by the time he leaves office after the 2020 election. Incalculable damage both at home and abroad. It’s really quite remarkable just how much the reputation of the United States overseas has been harmed by this “man.” Our allies and friends used to be able to depend on the United States to have their back no matter what happened. But not any longer. Our allies and friends used to assume that an agreement, a treaty, an alliance meant something and could be depended upon, regardless of a change in the administration of our country, regardless of what political party was in power. No longer. Our enemies, and we have several, are delighted at the wreckage caused by trump, and as Director Mueller testified a few days ago before Congress, they have been working hard, continue to work hard, and will continue to work to influence the 2020 election. Influence it in order to retain the creature they helped install in 2016, in my opinion, an opinion shared by a cross section of influence Americans regardless of political party, and by veterans of numerous security agencies. Meanwhile, Mitch McConnell, Senate Majority Leader, has blocked two bipartisan bills designed to strengthen our electoral system prior to 2020 in order to prevent the influence of hostile foreign powers. Not only the influence of countries like Russia, China, and Iran by putting lies and fake news in numerous outlets across the internet, but the possibility of outright assault on the voting machines and the tabulation of votes in states across the country. Those systems have weak protection against such intrusions, yet McConnell have prevented those bipartisan bills from being passed. Why? To insure the reelection of donald trump and in hope of retaining his Senate majority. McConnell cares more about himself and his political party than he does in our country having free and fair elections. Meanwhile, we have fools here laughing while this goes on. Incredible.
The POTUS needs an outlet for his emotion. Russia, if you want to really mess with us, shut down Twitter.
