It won’t be the end of the world if the holes for next season have to be plugged by cheap options. In fact, those have been Luhnows specialty (Chirinos, Miley, Morton, Rondon, Sipp). If we have Al Avilacatching, and Michael Wacha and Ivan Nova in the back of the rotation, and Greg Holland and Juan Nicasio in the bullpen all for a combined $20M, the team will still be a contender.

The Pirates got utterly ****ed in that deal. Anytime that does that deserves what happens.

Mets want elite prospects. It's going to cost for Thor.

Also, Mets are now leaking stuff to the media. Saying how they don't think Houston's farm system has the prospects to get him. All to drive up the price

Plus if they sign Cole to big money they will need guys like Tucker to perform for low salaries to make it work

Tucker would be a substantial cost.

    https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2019/07/noah-syndergaard-trade-rumors-astros-padres-braves-mets.html

10:35pm: It isn’t definite the Mets will trade Syndergaard, per reports from Anthony DiComo of MLB.com and Anthony Rieber of Newsday, though Rieber adds the club’s “working hard” to move him. The Astros are “pessimistic” about their chances of acquiring Syndergaard, DiComo writes. Meanwhile, it “doesn’t sound like” the Mets and Twins have made headway toward a deal, Martino tweets.
