I am currently shopping for a home insurance company for a new home purchase and Fed Nat is by far the cheapest for the same coverage.

State Farm quoted $4000/year, Allstate and Farmers quoted $2600/year, and FedNat is only $1700/year.

The price is almost too good to be true so I am wary. There are some horror stories online about them, but I guess that's true of any company. Does anyone have first hand experience with them in Houston?

You get what you pay for.

I just switched to them from UPC but we use a broker (David Whittington and Associates).

I honestly don't know anything about them but am comfortable enough that our broker suggested them.

If they were uninsured, how/why is Fed Nat supposed to pay? Shouldn't your insurance cover you in this event?

Must be a really cheap policy.
