I just read and watch his speech and actions. I think we disagree on what is deemed racist in this specific argument, not the underlying facts of what he said.
Great gimmick by the movie producer. Nobody but Hollywood nerds would have even known this existed until a trailer started getting TV time. Instead, conservative keyboard warriors everywhere have been triggered by the leak of this info into banging the war drums which translates into early, early awareness, a year before release. A viral marketing masterpeace.

Will I see the movie? Nope Does it bother me? Not really. It is a movie, they are made to make money..... and if people don't want to see these types of movies, they will stop making them. It is like the Ghost Busters movie. The newest one was a stupid premise and a stupid movie. However it is nothing more and nothing less.
The real conversation we should be having is why 98% of movies suck and why the public keeps supporting them with their dollars.
Are movie revenues down across the industry? I did not know that. All those dumb Marvel movies seem to print money. Rarely does a movie get me to the theater anymore when in previous years I'd go maybe half a dozen times.. *shrugs*

I believe ticket sales are down last I checked, don't care to inquire more so someone can correct me if I'm wrong. The movie industry as a whole is just doing fine though, it's not going to wither away any time soon. I think though for a lot of people it's better and more comfortable to just wait for the digital release. American theaters usually suck and I know last time I went the price was way too high for a few hours of entertainment that I could have gotten at home 2-3 months later for $5
Yea theater revenue issues probably largely have to deal with the advent and popularity of streaming services. The quality of the movies produced might also play a role. I know I'd go to lots more movies if I thought there was anything worth going to see and occasionally there is. I saw Apollo 11 this year and They Shall Not Grow old - in theaters - both of them are basically documentaries though.
They wouldn't have done it if they didn't think they could make money doing it. Funny, I'm not interested because it is a Bond movie.

The Ghostbusters reboot was just that, a remake that sucked. It wasn't good. When good movies have minority actors, they do well, there are plenty of examples of this each year. I would love for an African American to be empowered and write their own brilliant movie. Shaming white people out of their characters isn't a good look.
The feminists and PC brigade have had 007 in their sights for a long time now. First, they want Bond to be a black man. But wait, that's not progressive enough -- 007 should be a black woman (with a few too many lbs). It's looking like this will be the one enemy Bond can't defeat. The SJWs are intent on ruining all movie franchises. Sadly, they are succeeding. With this trend, and with the growth of streaming and home entertainment technology, going to the movies will soon become a thing of the past. And the sad thing is -- Hollywood will deserve this fate.
