Well, that's what should happen if you forgo opportunities LAST SEASON in ducking the LT. Now you spend, "Whatever It Takes" Fertitta.

There's levels of luxury tax and there's levels of fear.

How afraid can Tilman be if he OKed the trade for Westbrook? To some, that is a frightening horror show.

From strictly this year's perspective it didn't add any salary. WB and Paul have the same salary.

If you add in Convington AND Iggy, that's an additional $28.4 in salary.

This, why are we shooting for Iggy. Crowder fits better and is way younger and cheaper.!!!

Yeah, if we have another player to move instead of Clark, like, he's the only guaranteed minimum contract we have at this point?

He ducked the LT last year. So be it for "Whatever It Takes" Tilman.

I'd be surprised if they extend his contract before the season starts. Tillman will want to see how this team starts out and gels before that happens.

If we added Capela, Shumpert & Nene S&T (120% of previous contracts) Hartenstein, Clark, Fraizer and Chiozza... we could take back an additional 57 million in salary on top of WB.

Have fun with that boys. Griffin, Hayward, Love, O.Porter, Beal, Gallo, Adams, Iggy, Roco, Marc Gasol, Ibaka etc, think about all the things Morey could be up to.

    Not gonna lie....

    Capela/Chandler
    Tucker/Faried
    Iggy/House/Green
    Harden/Gordon
    Westbrook/Rivers

The rebounding and defense is better, and honestly have we "really" taken a dip in shooting from last year? I'm cool with getting Igoudala, and if the lineup changes a smidge for chemistry, but that's a dam solid group.

That starting lineup looks void of shooters, yes. Maybe we start EG and Harden at the 3.

Whoever first thought of expanding the trade to acquire additional players is a genius! Hope it's someone in the Teams front office and not this BBs lol.

Love this variation you thought of, unfortunately I don't believe it is feasible. First of all, the Wolves simply don't have much incentive to cut payroll. They are well under the tax line, but also well over the cap. Assuming they just simply want to cut payroll for the sake of cutting payroll... they'd first look to move the expiring contract of teague or the 2/34mil of Dieng. (guess they can also dream of moving Wiggins)

Secondly, the Rockets can only offer 2 draft pick to be selected PRIOR to the 2023 season, any other years would result in violating the stepien rule (Rockets owe 24,26 picks to OKC). These picks will very likely be in the 20's as they are all within the range of Harden/Westbrook's contract & one year of covington's contract with the Rockets.

Seeing how Memphis got a barely protected 2024 1st rounder for Iggy and is looking for another... as well as what other team's have received in player trades this season, (not to mention player's salary) I imagine a player like Covington (3-d wings being the most sought after) with a bargain contract 3/36 would fetch a lot more than 2 late first round pick.

Acquiring Covington is extremely unlikely IMO, but expanding the Westbrook trade is a great idea & if Tilman Fajita is willing to cross the tax line, a chance to grab an Iggy, Crowder or is it still possible to trade for Jerami Grant?
